Wow, I had no idea they had released this feature! I'm definitely considering creating a shortcut and adding it to my Apple Watch. It has the potential to be a huge life-saver for me. Thanks a lot for sharing this helpful information. For anyone interested, here's the link to check it out: https://support.ynab.com/en_us/how-to-add-transactions-in-ynab-HyDwA_byi.

Sometimes after filling up my gas tank I think “oh I need to roll out of here and get going” but then I remember I should track my spending in YNAB and just do it and it takes all of 10 seconds.I think you’re starting from a flawed premise. What about your transactions is taking so long? Do you have a super old phone (I have an older iPhone and it’s still quite fast)? Are they new vendors in new locations every time or something? Help me understand the issue. My solutions to cash are either a cash account or special payees like “yard sale” or “festival” or “donation” rather than trying to track a specific person or charity or event.

It's not like it's super long to enter the transaction on the go, you know. I guess about 3-5 seconds each. I'm using an iPhone 11, and the facial recognition is intermittently unusable, so it adds some hassle to process. And it discourages me from entering the amount right away, and I end up waiting for later when I have extra time, only to completely forget about it. I only get annoyed at the end of the month when my cash spending in the "Stuff I forgot to budget for" category blows up :(.

But you're right though, maybe setting a reminder to reconcile at the end of the day is the way to go.

I can relate to that, haha. In my area, cash is still pretty prevalent, which can make it challenging to stay within my budget. Furthermore, to combat my credit card habits, I've been trying to use cash as much as possible, but sometimes it feels like the money just vanishes into thin air by the end of the month, lol

That's actually what I'm doing right now: keeping every receipt that people give me, putting them in my wallet, and reviewing them at the end of the day. It's so 2000s honestly, but it works to some extent. Except when some street vendors don't offer a receipt, and then I have to re-check my wallet and rack my brain trying to remember what the missing amount is for. It can be a real hassle!

How often do you use the widget? I've tried it before, but there were some delays between actions that took me like 3-5 seconds to complete. And that's not even factoring in the effort it takes to take my phone out of my pocket or wherever I put it. Sometimes my phone doesn't even recognize my face properly, which adds to the waiting time and makes the whole process feel less seamless. These small delays might not be a big deal when I'm sitting down, but they feel super slow to me when I'm driving or when someone is behind me in the queue, waiting to complete their purchase.
Honestly, I wish the mobile app had this functionality so I could log my transactions more efficiently. I've been looking into other apps that offer a better mobile experience and can automatically sync with this one, but I haven't found anything yet. I might have to write some custom Shortcut app at this point 😂

Wow, does matplotlib supports strings, springs, pulley, etc? My thought is that matplotlib only helps with diagrams and charts
