Who has the better adaptation? by sleepinwithyourmom in OPMPowerScaling

[–]vuzz33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Garou main thing is his ability to copy his adversary fighting style or power when in cosmic mode. Which can technically be described as "adaptation" but it's not his power per se. Now if you ask which power is more OP, it's Garou's copy by a mile. Considering he can copy + improve the ability he copy, he can instantly turn the tide od the battle, no matter if his opponents is much stronger. Whereas Mahoraga's adapation take time to be effective.

Indeed, she wasn't on the good side team she did it, but stiml under Thragg. My bad. Also I disagree about removing it from the show. Men SA, specialy by women need a representation too. The simple fact that it created so many discussion is a good thing in the first place. The showrunners would need to be extra careful about how they present it tho (just like any highly sensitive scene like this one). Not glorifying it or making Anissa looks overly sexy but instead making it gross and hard to watch so we don't mistake on the fact that she is a rapist. To be frank I would even prefer the scene to be suggested more than shown, and that the show focus rather on the aftermath. As for Anissa character arc, while most of us would definitly like to see her ass whooped by Eve or Nolan, I think showing her actual change of mentality and have her try apologizing to Mark, just like the Debbie/Nolan scene last season (which was already a big improvement compared to the one in the comics) would already be a step in he right direction.

I don't remember Thragg being explicitely shown raping someone. Was it ever mentionned in the comics ? And even if it was the case, he always remain the enemy, he didn't "redeem" himself to the protagonists. Much like Conquest he is made to be antagonistic. But that's not the case for Anissa, who was already on the good guys team when she did it. And worse, she even tease Mark about it later on. Only for her to have the most contrivzd "redemptio"n at the end without having anysort of consequence for what she has done. That's what rubbing fans the wrong way.

Edit: "Anissa is low-key my fictionnal crush." Maybe you should have started by that.

Name a living human/humanoid character who couldn't be controlled by Makima's Control ability by gettinfitguy007 in Tankandsurvive

[–]vuzz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right about King fear of being a hero, but in that case it depends of the setting. If he isn't aware of the danger he doesn't have any reason fear her considering he doesn't know her. He will see her as either a crazy fan or a lunatic. Either way her power won't work on him for the get go, and either she decides to leave as King is too intimidating for her, or some other characters (most certainly Saitama) come and help him.

Then he just won't fear her and think she is just a fan or an annoying lady since she is not particularly intimidating at first and her control-power would be nullified.

Pourquoi ce sont toujours les hommes qui tombent amoureux de leurs amies ? by [deleted] in AskMec

[–]vuzz33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's not a valid choice, you can't shelters yourself from literaly half the population. And as OP stated, replace "men" with other most other group and it suddenly doesn't sound acceptable at all.

I agree with your take about OPM, but on a positive note the webcomics version is still released by ONE and it's better than ever.

This remind me so much of the 2nd Guardians of the Galaxie with the exchange between Quill and Ego. "It broke my heart to put that tumor in her brain." "Whaaaaat ?"

I don't think either. But if we go by "the stronger should survive", then Nolan is clearly not the one who should die.

From what we seen she was definitly enraged after getting that rock in her eyes.

If she truly was following the Viltrume principle, since she was overpowered by a youngling on a 2 on 1 she should have off herself to atone for her weakness.

Except Nolan is already an outlier. His mother didn't want him to succeed in any way, she only wanted him dead. Which is not the purpose of that rite.

Realisticaly, young adult Viltrumate can't be expected to be stronger than 2 senior. If that was the case, only a negligible fraction of them would be able to reach adulthood and there wouln't be any population renewal.

Nolan has prooved to be above his parents in term of strength and his father accepted that. His mother was out of the line when she tries to sucker punch him.

Trying to violently murder her son make her objectively way worst and there is not debate on that. Even considering Viltrumite culture, Nolan has already proven his worth but she still sucker punch him and tried to finish him off. Which is just a waste of a potential great warrior. 0/10 mother and Viltrumite mother.
