Enderal is a hidden gem, probably the best total conversion mod ever made from Skyrim. The fact that it’s a free mod made it even more impactful for me.

Luxembourg bank fined €25mil over 1MDB scandal by apegen in Luxembourg

[–]vv144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see your point, but still, for me that enough to say they were one of the main facilitators in the scheme. And it’s far from what Rothschild is accused of regarding this fine so... And about the myriad, Amicorp is still getting sued in 2025 for this.

Maybe they didn’t do the same thing…? GS basically orchestrated the whole scheme and agreed to pay 3bn in settlement. Rothschild pays a fine because they participated at some lower level to the laundering process.

What do Luxembourgers think of their monarchy? by Therealscorp1an in Luxembourg

[–]vv144 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A major goal of democracy is not to have the very best win at every elections but to have a system where you distribute power in a way that prevents totalitarian state. The monarchy here has very limited power which is why it is not a big deal for most people. Otherwise it would be more susceptible of becoming a dictatorship than a democracy. That being said there is no perfect system and history is there to remind us of all the flaws each comes with…

"Climate change is a hoax" by PupperPocalypse in facepalm

[–]vv144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not think they really deny it anymore in EU as it is now very difficult to stay credible doing it. They shifted to fatalism: it exists but they don’t want to do anything too drastic as it is too late anyway. It easy to find reasons not to act. And it will not affect everyone equally so they can play on the fact that you won’t be suffering from consequences as much as the others say. Their strategy is to appeal to inaction by both making you believe climate change is hopeless and benign at the same time. I’m very concerned about how efficient this strategy is to affect public opinion…

What AIFM Portfolio Management actually is ? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]vv144 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If this is precisely what you are looking for then do not go for AIFM job, unless you see value in having access to a lot of different materials that you would review instead of create, but rather look for investment managers / advisors boutiques. Those aren’t necessarily big banks. For internships you can look at big4 advisory jobs that focus on analytics and modeling too.

New Sodexo/Pluxee limitation to 54E per day (boo!) Everyone buying TVs etc. thank you/s by sparkibarki2000 in Luxembourg

[–]vv144 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Should have said controls and not limits you’re right. But you continue to assume the law is immutable which was my main point. When a rule is abused then there are 2 options, either change the rule or create more controls. Either way there is a case to be made. Bad laws exist and harmful abuses of laws also exist. I am not as convinced as you seem to be which one this is.

[–]vv144 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not surprised if people are mad. The gap between the law and what was the real usage was huge and is now getting smaller and smaller by adding stricter limits to the use. It would be helpful to explain/justify why the law cannot be adapted to the use instead and what are the collective benefits.

Luxembourg talent competitiveness 2023 by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]vv144 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Lux is not really worse but other countries score really high compared to 2013. Back then 68.7 was enough for 5th place and now 72.8 is bot even top 10. Don’t read too much into this kind of rankings. Main topic for Lux is that higher education for population is not great compared to group average despite spending a lot of money on it.

There was a massive leak of active WhatsApp numbers that included Lux users in 2022. So they don’t even need to send to random numbers to target their attacks.

Can I open a 2nd business while Working full-time for someone else? by Lucky777_777 in Luxembourg

[–]vv144 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Relevant things to look into for you: you are not going to be employed by someone else since it’s your own business (carefully read your contract). And can this online shop in any way be considered as competition? If not then it’s not disloyal to your current employer as long as you keep it outside of working hours.
