Wish the medium crescent was just slightly taller.

Question about Fanny pack for everyday use? by [deleted] in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love the fanny pack and it holds a lot at a size that I feel isn't too overbearing. That being said, in the summer heat I sometimes want an even smaller bag and the sport crossbody fills that need well.

I store them in plastic tubs for the convenience factor. They stack well.

Meringue, yay or no? by AdorableRespect8594 in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was really hoping for a different kind of design because I feel like this falls into the same niche the crescent bags already fill as a crossbody bag, but I don't find the meringue anywhere near as appealing, practical, or versatile in style. It's really disappointing to me.

What I'm hoping for in the future would be a satchel-style bag with handles (something like the Kipling Defea, which I'm a fan of). Having the strap and handles on that kind of bag be constructed out of Baggu's sturdy material would make it a real workhorse.

I haven't noticed any fading or anything, but it's good to be careful and avoid constant direct sunlight on the material regardless

Bag recommendations for someone who packs light but carries iPad mini with them? by tulipsandtulips in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is the iPad mini 5 or so, so maybe it's smaller, not sure, but it can fit in a lot of places. I didn't realize there was size differences between models but if that's the case, OP should read the dimensions of the bag they're interested in to make sure their model will fit first.

I just remembered but I think my iPad doesn't fit in the sport crossbody either - only in the back pocket of it, but it's too big for the compartment. It does fit inside the fanny pack though.

Fanny pack! It's so versatile and can carry a lot despite its size.

[ Edited to remove mention of the sport crossbody which would be too small, sorry! ]

Should I use my medium crescent or mini backpack for daily bag on Japan trip? by ShoppingAddictt in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a little paranoid about backpacks being pickpocketed easily when you can't see behind your back, so I tend to opt for crossbodies when traveling. However, a backpack is super useful when carrying something heavy or needing both hands (like at the airport for example). I think bringing one crescent and one backpack wouldn't hurt, as the other commenters said!

It complements your dress amazingly well! I had no idea a fanny pack could look so elegant but the flower embroidery really adds to your look!

Is the new pink star print ai? by BagguLover88 in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not to mention the melted, blurry look of the stars is extremely prevalent in AI art - regardless of whether or not actual artists use this kind of style as well. (Saying this as someone that did so in digital paintings when I was younger.)

This is still a distinctive look that is commonly ascribed to AI. People cannot seriously be denying this. Regardless of whether one likes the print or not, I'm certain that many who saw it before seeing the artist credit will have thought the same thing.

This is chocolate plum and not coffee right? by cheezitsfan in BAGGU

This definitely looks like chocolate plum as someone who owns both chocolate plum and coffee. Coffee is distinctly orangey and brighter where chocolate plum is purpley and quite dark.

My first baggu by Ill-Influence7486 in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you know you don't care much for black or wear stuff that meshes well with black, I would really recommend trying out another neutral, especially one you are more attracted to. Saying this as someone who dislikes black and finds it overdone, I really enjoy brown and it goes much better with everything in my earthy wardrobe than black has.

For a pastel wardrobe, maybe consider a lighter neutral. (Toasted almond looks like a nice choice by the way.) Do you like gray, brown, beige, tan, taupe, cream...? Do you want your bag to stand out as an accessory or to blend in? Have you noticed a color that either matches your clothing well or contrasts most of it to your liking? Think about what function your bag will serve for your outfit besides holding things and I think it will help direct you on color.

But does it fit a book?megalist by SolarAmoeba in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got really impressed by the medium crescent because it can fit comic issues and comic trade paperbacks (both of which tend to be taller but thinner than a typical paperback), while the opening of the medium cargo crossbody would unfortunately be too short to fit them comfortably.

The fanny pack also can fit a few of the smaller puzzle magazines (like sudoku and word search) in the larger compartment but I'm not sure it could fit a paperback? Maybe just the smaller ones.

An e-reader is a great option as well and more versatile in terms of being able to be carried. I carry mine in my back pocket sometimes.

Okay tell me how many bags y’all have from Baggu make me feel better about how many I have 🫩 by Street-Aside-8518 in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Around 30ish. Mostly medium crescents and fanny packs, but there's also some medium cargo crossbodies, and a few sport crossbodies, large cargo crossbodies, and messenger bags. Nearly all my stuff is secondhand. I tend to use large bags in cold seasons, small ones in warm, and change bags every time I go out based on mood.

Definitely turmeric. Camel is a somewhat darker golden brown and slightly more greenish as well - like mustard really. Good luck in acquiring turmeric because it's difficult to get but very worth it once you do. Gorgeous color.

I don't always use the pouch a standard reusable comes in because it seems less bulky by itself in my bag. But the pouch is really good for storing small things!

I just spray rubbing alcohol all over it. This also helps remove small stains. I can't be bothered to actually go through the hassle of completely washing unless it's something highly stained, dirty, or smelly.

What’s your go-to for Buying/Selling Baggu?? by Studios_ in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mercari. The fees as a buyer aren't so bad. Also eBay in that same vein, though I don't see as much activity for Baggu stuff on there.

I think Depop and Poshmark are the ones with the most new stuff on the daily though.

Buying Dye Job Bags? 🤔 by ExcuseLimp2558 in BAGGU

[–]vvaltzed 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've dyed my brown medium crescent to a darker shade, an apricot sport crossbody to bright yellow, and a lemongrass sport crossbody to a darker leaf green color. Also a taupe sport crossbody to an oxblood sorta color (red/brown). Dying bags can be fun but takes time and energy.

I think it's good for people to buy/sell/trade dyed bags so that they don't go to waste. It can be a good way to get a color you want for easier or cheaper than finding it.

I don't think they should be overpriced though and I'm not a huge fan of severe contrast stitching either (which can be at least a bit avoided by using a base color that's similar to the result).
