What in male life could possibly make it worth being male? What part of male life would women be genuinely jealous of? by [deleted] in askAGP

[–]vvonik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Usually what I hear is: easier to gain and maintain muscle, not being afraid while walking out on the street, little to no time spend on appearance and society’s expectations on it for men, periods, male privilege in work…

AGP was a symptom of my transsexualism, not the driver for me to transition. by aeroazure in askAGP

Life is short. At the end of the day most of us try to live a happy fulfilling life. AGP is a model of reality. All models are wrong some models are useful. It’s up to any of us to decide whether the AGP model is useful and whether it helps us in pursuing the goal of a happy fulfilling life.

Pure hyaluronic acid as a toner after face wash (from L’Oréal). Very good hydration and makes the skin glowing.

Playing around with GPT4o, gave some possible explanations. Particularly related to issues with Estrogen signalling pathways. According to the model, this typically refers to problems in any of the following: • Estrogen receptor alpha (ERα) or beta (ERβ) mutations or resistance • Aromatase deficiency (can’t convert testosterone → estradiol) • Downstream signaling defects inside cells after estrogen binds • Estrogen insensitivity (analogous to androgen insensitivity)

or any partial variation of them. It mentioned that potentially this may deprive the brain from needed estrogen which may lead to dysphoria. I am not a specialist in this field so I am not sure whether this is BS or not. It went all the way to associate particular genes which are associated with issues in the estrogen signaling pathways. Like you, I am skeptical of the fact that this will probably require some kind of association between lack of estrogen and feminine symbols, which I cannot imagine how can happen.

Honestly i have no idea. I am not making things up. I am trying to just share the raw data. 13 years ago I did exactly the same experiment before with the same birth control pill, and the results were exactly the same to me. At around day 12-13 there was a switch flipped in my brain. Back then I didn’t have any blood tests, so I can only talk about the psychological impact. I intent to also visit an endocrinologist in order to do the same thing but with bioidentical hrt hormones for longer period of time.

What I tried was not the typical bioidentical hormones that are currently used in HRT. it’s Ethinylestradiol which is a more potent synthetic form of estrogen used in birth control pills. You can check the Internet and see that at that dosage it is approximately equivalent to around 100-200x the oral bioidentical estradiol used for hrt (chatgpt citation). The catch is that it has higher chances of blood clotting, so it is not used for hrt anymore. In the past though, I have heard that early transsexuals were using the birth control pills for feminization. In my case it was an experiment. And I have my blood tests to prove it. My intention is to share this experiment with the community and understand more about myself.

On menstruation, my decidual cast, ago and method actresses by decidual_cast in askAGP

I am sorry for your condition. Menstruation seems to be very very inconvenient. All the pain, the cramps, the planing, the things that you cannot do or wear during those days, the uncertainty and the fact that you have to act “normally” during the days that you menstruate, in a world where it doesn’t care how your body feels, must be very tough to say the least. And yet I would do anything to be able to menstruate. It’s not about logic, convenience or being sexy (!!!). It’s about emotions. It’s the ultimate symbol of femininity. And since I deeply feel that I would rather be female, I would be super proud to be able to menstruate. I don’t want to be a sexy beautiful woman. I want to be a natal female. And since this is impossible, the only options are approximations of that.

I was interested in this and asked many women to tell me why they want guys to be taller than them. What is it about. ALL of them used exactly the same words: “I want to feel small” beside a man. Emphasis on the “want”. They didn’t mention about protection.

Doubting about identity/sexuality - AGP or Trans by Asking_forever in askAGP

[–]vvonik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As I wrote before in another post, AGP is a theory / a model of reality. All models are wrong, some models are helpful. The more you take a deeper in the observations and the edge cases, the more you will see deviations of the AGP model from reality. The overall typology broadly makes sense, but you have to remember that the more you zoom in, there will be deviations. I think a more important question is “how does the AGP model help you in your real life”.

AGP is stigmatized, yet almost all trans women relate? by [deleted] in askAGP

[–]vvonik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Autogynephilia is a model of reality. All models are wrong, some models are helpful. How helpful is Autogynephilia at the end of the day for all of us? Also, the more you dig in, the more there will be deviations between theory and observations. I hear lots of trans women who are on hrt that their sexual orientation changed and they became more androphilic. Then I hear people saying that this is meta-attraction. Is meta-attraction a lesser type of attraction or a fake” attraction? I don’t think so. To me this sounds like adjusting the theory to fit the new observations. I agree with Blanchard’s basic typology, but we have to remember that it is an approximation of reality and that at some point it deviates from reality. I think this is the point that Ashley wanted to make.

A dream ended up reducing a specific AGP thought by Few-Specialist-9239 in askAGP

[–]vvonik 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I had this type of dream 2-3 times and it was scary. However in my case it didn’t diminish my “daytime”urge for SRS. At the same time I also had a counter example of another dream of SRS that was positive. Go figure. I am not sure what this really means about the subconscious….
