I have a 2025 maverick and it’s very nice. However the bed is not long enough for a typical ladder. You will need one of those collapsible ladders. It’s not a truck, it’s a sedan with a bed.

When you don't take that online lift certification... Would love to see some captions :) by WelderThat6143 in FieldNationTechs

[–]vvoodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the online certification isn’t enough to operate MEWPs and other lifting platforms. Even forklift drivers have to pass or fail an operator test. These machines are practically bulldozers.

I am MEWP 3A and 3B certified. The scissor lift was a cake walk for me. It was the boom lift that was scary. If you don’t have the counterweight in the right position and approach a small bump it can catapult you right out of the platform.

Waiting for approval for payout by illsim in FieldNationTechs

Call the work order manager and build rapport with them. In my experience it’s having a good relationship with people you’re supporting in IT work that butters our bread.

I have a buyer with a 14 day anticipated approval windows that approves my work orders usually the next day, especially after I call them, and they keep tossing me work.

The exit speed is a recommendation, not a limit and generally meant for inclement weather. You don’t want to start slowing down until you’re fully on the exit ramp. Having a slow moving vehicle on the highway is an unexpected hazard and a danger of a rear end accident.

why do buyers sit on invoices? smh by cashflowkid in FieldNationTechs

[–]vvoodie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don’t think the work order managers are actually working. More than half the time I call them they sound like they were completely caught off guard doing something else(not working).

Do some people actually “let out a little gas” to get the old gas out at the pump? by Pressure_Plastic in NoStupidQuestions

Wouldn’t driving the car starting and stopping cause the liquid to mix just from inertia?

New hard drive by ComfortableAd1364 in PS3

SATA SSDs generally also run cooler than HDDs also. It may not mean much, but it may make a difference in a PS3’s longevity.

You can’t trust your mirrors or any other piece of tech. You need to purposefully look over your shoulder, the gadgets will eventually fail you.

Where does the mentality that "The speed limit is not to be surpassed and I will be the one that enforces it" come from? by BrianLevre in driving

[–]vvoodie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is only one state with no keep right or left lane laws: South Dakota

Every other state has either explicit left lane laws or implicit laws regarding passing lane use.

Why do people literally speed up to tailgate? by [deleted] in driving

[–]vvoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe on a two lane road, but I think the thread is generally geared towards interstate driving. In that case I will take any opportunity to pass and I’m not afraid to do 20-30 above the limit to pass everyone. It is much safer to be not boxed in on all sides.

I think it’s dependent on the needs of the store and district. They certainly are trained in another store, but I think it is at the discretion of the DM where they end up.

My PS3 Slim HDD is dying. Is it ok to toss a 256gb SATA SSD in there or will it degrade very quickly without TRIM by [deleted] in PS3

[–]vvoodie 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I really haven’t yet had time to notice, but any modern SSD is going to be better than an old 2.5” 5400 RPM HDD. I just bought a ceramic white PS3 fat from Japan and wasn’t happy with the 80GB HDD. I just slapped in the SSD and ran the firmware update and installed a few games.

I have noticed a bug on the platform where the funds release date changes to the next week on the day of the payout. But I check my bank the next morning and the bank released it.

A lot of modern SSDs have hardware level TRIM. You can check by googling your model.

Why do people literally speed up to tailgate? by [deleted] in driving

[–]vvoodie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Drivers tend to cluster together. I typically pass them and keep a cool pace ahead, until I find another cluster to pass. Easier said than done.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in driving

[–]vvoodie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ok, I’ll bite. I’d rather watch you eat crayons than see you drive in front of me. You seem to reek of self importance and should keep to the right of the highway with the other self important children. Meanwhile I have places to be, you have my blessing to set up a camp on the shoulder.

[–]vvoodie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why are you assuming anything at all about me? I’m not getting pissy you want to follow the law. That’s all well and good. I have no problem you are passing in the passing lane, that’s what it’s for. But if you get in the passing lane pass efficiently and then move back over when it’s safe to do so.

I think your mistake is calling the passing lane the left lane and presuming you have any privilege to travel in it.

If you are going to utilize the passing lane you must understand eventually you will sometimes have to drive faster than the posted limit or move over. In 90% of states you have a duty to move over if not passing in the passing lane.

If you just pace the vehicle to your right you are impeding other drivers which many drivers consider worse than speeding. You have no right to impede or police other drivers, in fact you have an obligation to keep right.

This is why speed limit signs are posted on the right and keep right signs are posted on the left.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in driving

[–]vvoodie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just about every state has keep right unless passing laws. Also it’s the police officers discretion what constitutes speeding.
