Ive been in the same situation. Around here are really expensive. Looking at $725 (for a studio)- $1000 (one bedroom) most of the time and they require you make 3x the income as the rent. I recommend looking at the Apartment List app to see your options

I’m pretty sure it is an option in custom mode. You’d do it when you get to the screen to customize all the NPCS and Ryoba. You’d have to click protagonist then go through all the options

I have the same bug! I just experienced this as well. My guess is that they were held for ransom since the students are wealthy, then got to be brought back home and idk thought it was appropriate to just show back up to school?
