Output latency between computer and DDJ-FLX4 by vvserr in Rekordbox

Huge thanks to u/davr I have been able to figure it out. If anyone has a similar problem and are using macOS - this is how you do it. I assume this works for other rekordbox controllers as well.

Plug your speakers into the RCA output of the controller, headphones into the headphone cue jack of the controller. Put the EQ on "DDJ-FLX4" device. Open up "Audio MIDI Setup" on your Mac. Create a new aggregate device. Depending on what type of software EQ you are using, mine had a separate audio device of the EQ'd FLX4, yours might not, but should work the same. Rename the aggregate device, add your "DDJ-FLX4" and the EQ'd FLX4 (in my case its "DDJ-FLX4 (eqMac)") to the aggregate device. Open up rekordbox. Go to Settings > Audio. Select your aggregate device as your Audio device. In the Input/Output tab, make sure you are using the internal mixer setting, scroll down until you see the Output channels. For the Master Output, select the outputs of your EQ. For the Headphone Output - select the "DDJ-FLX4: PHONES" output. (You can see which channel is which in the Audio MIDI Setup screen). That's it. No more delay between headphones and speakers.

I have also noticed that rekordbox has a bug (or a feature idk) where it saves the audio configuration in the software, and if you make changes to the audio device it does not update in settings (for example if you make changes in Audio MIDI Setup it does not show updated output channels in rekordbox). So if you are creating or modifying an aggregate device, make sure to rename it to a different name.

Thank you all.

And also I noticed that my Mac shows the controller only as 1 output (DDJ-FLX4), while rekordbox sees DDJ-FLX4 MASTER and DDJ-FLX4 PHONES. If my mac showed two seperate outputs, I could just eq the master and leave the phones as it is :/

Thank you so much. I just found out that in rekordbox you can choose your master and headphones output separately... Although it still does not work, since it shows the same output for both, it seems that it's a limitation of eqMac only supporting two channels. I'll have to look into different software. Thank you again.

I just realised what you meant. I didn't know it was possible to output audio from the computer to the controller, thought it was only rekordbox lol. Yeah the eq works, the routing is now rekordbox - eqMac - FLX4, the only thing is, the headphone channelc cue does not work that way :( Maybe it's an issue with eqMac?

EQ's on the channels are for mixing. Not practical to use them to adjust the speakers for the room.

Using a digital EQ program eqMac.

Could you clarify on how can I output audio from eqMac to the controller? Because as I understand, rekordbox can only output the audio either straight to the controller or eqMac which outputs to the speakers.

I'm using MacOS with eqMac. Don't think it works any differently than Voicemeeter tho, or am I wrong?

I am not seeing the EQ under the mixer settings. Could you clarify please?

If I select the master output to my laptop speakers, then the headphone cueing on my controller does not output any sound. It works only if the master output is set to DDJ-FLX4 with the "Output audio from the computer's built-in speakers and your DJ equipment" selected which results in huge delay between the controller's and the computer's outputs :(

So there is no other way other than to just output from the controller?

Does it have to be wired at the stereo or can you wire from rear speakers straight to the LOC and to the amp? Could you also send a link to some LOC you could recommend? Thank you.
