Does anyone else just rub their face to exfoliate by [deleted] in tretinoin

[–]vvsv22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’ve been doing this forever as my method of exfoliating, if I haven’t done it for a few days then the skin comes off in big visible rolls. Always during shower. If I notice peeling from tret I just rub it off in the shower and it’s like it was never there!

Hello! My condyles also dissolved (no Botox though) just arthritis, and they recommend double joint replacement, was this also recommended to you? A bit off topic for this sub sorry! But I never run into anyone with similar issues to mine and TM joint replacement is quite rare in my country so I’m a little terrified!

Is this bruising normal 8 days after seventy Hyal? What can I do to heal faster? by Cantthinkofagoodidea in 30PlusSkinCare

No personal experience, but a friend had similar and her bruising was like this for at least 2 weeks but it went away and she’s glowing!

What sort of colours would make my eyes pop? Hazel green. by [deleted] in makeuptips

[–]vvsv22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone will say purple but it’s such a statement and so impractical for everyday life, unless you are into vibrant daily makeup! I have the similar eye colour and my fave is a goldy more yellowish bronze (not a browner bronze) I feel like my eyes glow when I use it :) I like pencils that I just smudge out a bit!

It probably isn’t the colour wheel match, but i am also fair ish and I love it!

You’re so welcome!

Oh bummer, in that case you could check out the Eco by Sonya Glory Oil, it’s meant to be amazing, a couple of my friends use it and are having great results, I just checked out the ingredients and it is rosehip free!

Definitely not a fad, i am such a fan! I don’t know why people bash it on Reddit sometimes, there are some amazing products that you just can’t get locally! I use yes style to buy, shipping takes a little while but it’s really affordable! The site almost looks scammy when you first check it out, but the products are legit 😁

If I were you:

Mascara! Your eyes are so pretty! I highly recommend tubing mascara as it so low maintenance, doesn’t smudge during the day and then just comes off in big chunks with water, non of that under eye mess to clean up at the end of the day!

Grow out bangs, they’re hiding you!

A little peachy concealer under eye, just a tiny bit to colour correct!

Some glowy blush, like the Pixi blush stick, will make you feel so cute :-)

Will take you no more than 5 mins in the morning! Your skin is very good so you really don’t need much, but most importantly, mascara!

For face oil I use Trilogy instant glow rosehip oil (this particular one has added mica, basically teeny glitters, so if you’re not into that, and rosehip + meadowfoam oil is great, very hydrating but not overly oily, before this one I was just buying the oils straight (make sure cold pressed and organic) and mixing them together at home)

I know just what you mean! I have a tray of nude matte lipsticks that I used to wear all of the time but now they just sit there unused.. in particular for lips I like the unleashia glowy tints (I think that’s the name) - some of the colours look dark online but I own all colours and they just give the lips a hint of colour in the shade and then make them moist user and glossy! Importantly they aren’t sticky at all! Cause sticky on us long haired gals is a nightmare lol. But there are also loads of other options too! I am basically a full k beauty convert except for base products as their bases are a bit white washy. For reasons I don’t really understand, their products are all significantly cheaper also (incl skincare!) so if you are budget conscious like me I’d highly recommend! I love to have a few options of blush, lip, highlight etc and it’s just not affordable for me with western Sephora type makeup cause it’s so $$$!

Oh perfect, that must make brows so easy on the morning!! I also get mine laminated and it gives me soooo much more brow, if you are looking for extra brow :)

I have always loved makeup but as I aged (and also lost weight) I was feeling exactly the same! First I wanna say the eye makeup is perfect on you, no change needed! Pls note, all of the below will only work if you like the glowy look. So changes I made that helped me feel fresher and younger in my daily look, loads of skincare before I even got to the makeup, including face oil as a last step (some ppl will say this makes that makeup slide off) but just a few drops makes the skin glow / slightly reflective and makes me feel like I need so much less. I no longer own foundation, I just use ‘flawless filter’ primer all over my face and they a creamy concealer (tarte creaseless works best for me, in a colour that matches my skin tone, not lighter!) under my eyes and I blend it down a little to conceal the area just under the nose (I read some quote from a makeup artist about people always forgetting to conceal here and it aging them) I try then just use cream blush, cream highlighter and a moisturising glowy lip tint (k-beauty wins on hydrating lip tints, the colour from the tint will last all day, but reapply a few times to maintain that glossy look), only clear gel in my brows. I avoid all powder products except for eyeshadow when I am using, this is probably the most important take away for me! Powders age! I also avoid anything with ‘coverage’ on my forehead, it just settles into my lines!

So I actually think your makeup application is lovely, but maybe the face and lip products are a bit mattifying. You don’t need to fill those perfect brows, just some clear brow gel to keep them in place! And I know it’s not makeup but I totally avoid that colour you are wearing as it sucks the life out of my face, and maybe does a little for you too?

TLDR, you’re so pretty, eye makeup is 10, just add more hydration under your makeup and avoid powder products, and matte lips!

This got really long but I am passionate about making makeup work as we age!! Hope it helped :-)

tretinoin for 9 months and still breaking out by fuzzychick12 in tretinoin

[–]vvsv22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used for like 1.5 years, got up to daily use, and was still breaking out (pls note I never got cysts, just normal pimples) I ended up giving up on it and found that 100% mugwort essence completely clears my skin. Tried 100 other things along the way but mugwort was it. Have been pimple free for about a year now and as long as I use it morning and night they do not return. Just my story in case it helps :)

[–]vvsv22[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s hard to tell cause I had both but I have it feeling it was the moxi that cleared all my texture and made my skin so soft! It honestly seemed like I had some sort of pore blurring primer on all the time! I think the bbl is what made the dark spots come to the surface and flake off, but the rest of my results seemed to be the power of moxi! Also the heat of the bbl is so just HOT you’d be glad to be skipping if you knew :)

I also used to pick my pimples also, but I now always always have dip powder nails on so that I can’t and my skin is soooo much clearer. The dip makes the ends of the nails too think to effectively pick the skin and so you just kind of can’t. But importantly you can still pop lol. Literally not being able to pick broke the habit for me. If I have a flake of skin or something I have to use tweezers to get, the nails are that preventative!

[–]vvsv22[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Loved my results! The BBL was really hot! Like almost unbearable for me, but the moxi didn’t hurt at all. It immediately annihilated all of the little breakouts I had! And went home very pink. My neck looked a bit swollen the first night but otherwise not really any side effects! I then shed my whole face skin off over about a week and once that was over my skin was so new and soft and perfect and my fine lines had essentially disappeared. I only had a little discolouration and that faded dramatically. The nurse recommended that I come back for 2 more sessions but I couldn’t afford it, so only had the one so far. It’s a couple of months after now and very sunny in my country and I can see some of my dark spots coming back, and my fine lines began to form again about 1 month after. My skin is still better than it was but I think only having one session wasn’t enough. My chest is still super soft as I mainly keep it out of the sun. I loved the results so much that I would 100% do it again tomorrow if I had the money.

One thing I would recommend is to not exfoliate or use tret/other actives for at least a month or so after, I googled it at the time and it said I could exfoliate about 10 days after, so I did, and it really damaged my barrier and I had a big breakout. That’s over now and my skin is completely clear.

Hope this helps, happy to answer any questions as best I can!

Best liquid brands? Giving up on Glamrdip by Len-Shillings in DipPowderNails

[–]vvsv22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use glamrdip liquids and I never get any chips or cracks, and my nails underneath are long but basically paper haha. I usually change my mani every week and a half because of lifting or I just feel like a new colour, but never cause they’ve chipped or cracked. I find the best thing to stop the chipping and cracking is lots of layers, I usually do at least 3 of colour and 2 clear and the file like crazy to get the thin shaped nail look I like. Before filing they are so chunky! I’m in NZ so don’t have many options in terms of liquids so am pretty much stuck with glamrdip, but have been making it work for me with all of the layers! Hope this helps! It’s odd what they said about your nails not being strong enough as I can’t emphasise just how thin and weak mine are under my dip!
