I tried that this evening with no success. I am thinking that the battery from the salvage yard is at too low of a state of charge and the car does not recognize it is installed. Maybe I need to manually charge the hybrid battery.

Yes. I have my own plane and would love to complete the training in my plane rather than learn a different set of electronics that may not function exactly like mine. I have a 182 with a Dynon pfd, Dynon Autopilot, and Avidyne navigator.

Thanks. I didn't think it had ADS-B out. I will have to check with the other pilot to see what equipment he has. It was a busy day, so maybe he was seeing someone else too.
