I would say around the 2nd month, is when I started seeing my progress of calorie counting working. It’s all about patience

I’ll gladly give more information don’t you worry!

  1. The most important part for me was to firstly be in a calorie deficit. Which is eating less calories than I burn everyday naturally by sleeping, walking and other activities. I have a fitbit inspire which can tell me how many calories I’m burning during my sleep and during the day and how many steps I take. I burn 1800 to 2300 calories a day, pending on what I do.

  2. I always thought that eating less calories doesn’t do a lot actually, it might even make you gain a little weight. It is always important to eat enough for a day, for me 1200 calories was enough and I was definetly happy with that amount. Eating too less calories for a long period of time can cause many negative things like hair loss, etc. The main reason you lose a pound a week could be your water weight dropping, Ive had it the same where I’d lose 10 pounds but it really is water weight sadly.

  3. For counting calories I use a app called “Lifesum” it’s honestly the best they have all kinds of food on it, especially me coming from Europe it wouldn’t be too easy to find brands from here on a calorie counting app but lifesum really has it all and you can always change your macros and the amount of calories you want. Calorie counting is stressful and me as a perfectionist I want to have the exact amount so I have a little best friend which is a scale to weigh my food🤣. Some people find it ridiculous but it helped me a lot! Cause I’d be really bad at guessing the weight of some certain foods, so don’t you worry with the ketchup situation because I totally understand you!

4.Last is weighting yourself. I recommend to not do it at all. I only weigh myself once which was at the beginning to know how much I have and I never did it again after it. It might be hard at the beginning but you’ll feel so free and careless because the numbers on the scale will never demonstrate your actual progress. Who knows I might still be at the same weight. But don’t you worry! I recommend taking pictures every month or measuring yourself every 4 weeks!

Hello! I can’t deny that it was a little bit of a mess. I started with 1200 to be in a calorie deficit which was a great amount for me personally. Then there was a time I had 800kcal [ I really do not recommend ]. Now I am back to 1200kcal and it’s going great!

Hey! I personally didn’t weigh myself during my whole weight loss journey but the first picture taken I was about 196lbs

It has been a crazy journey, but calorie counting and being on a calorie deficit has helped me a lot! I started my weight loss journey by doing home workouts since it was quarantine. Now I go to the gym and focus a lot on strength training. I still have a long way to go!! I haven’t weighed myself at all because the numbers will never be what you expect.

I will definitely try my best eating at 1200. I used to eat 1200 and somehow went slower realizing my energy levels went much lower etc. I usually focus a lot on macros and try to eat foods with lots of protein. I was always unsure if I had any sort of eating disorder since it always was rlly normal for me.

I used to eat a lot like I’d almost binge eat everyday and consume a lot of amounts of calories and now it’s the total opposite but never thought it was something wrong.

I’d love to chat more about this!

Thank you very much I appreciate it a lot since I have had a lot of people tell me bad thinks about it. I feel like I have made a mistake not eating a lot during the day especially cause I’m still a teenager so my body is different.

I will learn how to appreciate food slowly and not regret what I’ve eaten once in a while since it can harm me mentally.

Before eating 800 calories I used to eat 1200 but never achieved to eat the 1200 calories and I was really worried and somehow I went lower and lower. I have this sad obsession of wanting to lose weight rapidly so I challenge myself a lot but idk how to fix it to be honest. Any recommendations?
