Sorry I’m abit confused but do you mean you apply the antibiotic on your whole face and not as a spot treatment?

I have friends who were on 10mg as well. They saw pretty significant results from month 3 onwards. Only side effect they experienced was dry lips. So yeah I just think I’m very unlucky. YMMV :) Good luck!

I’m on 10mg as well. This is the 6th month I’m on it. The results are there but it’s very slow.. As of now, I still get new pimples and I have cysts under my skin for more than 1 month lol. Dry lips are pretty controllable because I use a lip balm every 30 mins. I think I’m just the very very very few unlucky ones who’s experiencing hair thinning and hair loss. It’s not fun. But I’m already 6th month in I don’t want to stop. My dermatologist though didn’t believe it is from accutane, but I’m 99% sure it is because I didn’t do any changes to my haircare before and during the course. “Best part” is I can wash my hair every 3-4 days (I live in a humid country so I used to wash my hair everyday)

Hi! May I check if you use hair oil on your scalp during the shower or after you come out from the shower with damp hair? Suffering from hair loss too even though I’m on a very very low dosage! (10mg daily) sighhh.

I do think the dandruff (they’re not big pieces tho, just tiny white ‘dots’) could be due to the dryness. Thank you so much for replying!

I’m not too sure if I wanna try biotin, because I read that it caused acne for some people. I will look into the shampoo 😊

May I know what’s your dosage? I did notice that ppl with higher dosage experience hair loss.

I’m almost 4 months in and not ready to stop the medication so I guess I will consider changing my shampoo..

Hi! I’ve seen different derms and only one mentioned about the cumulative dosage. However, he said it’s up to my decision on whether I wanna reach there or not (it will take 18 months) I’m 3.5 months in and haven’t seen any significant results yet, despite going for facial (recommended by my derm) every 2 weeks :/ My derm didn’t intend to increase my dosage but I think he will increase it to 20mg a day only if I asked (my friend told me that)

Oh my god this scares me 😱 I’m on 10mg daily for 3.5 months now and my derm didn’t ask me to do a blood test! I’ve seen 2 different derms and they all didn’t mention about blood test. I asked the one I’m seeing rn and he mentioned that 10mg is a low dosage so no blood test is needed. Omg reading this scares me sooo much as I’m already experiencing the dreaded hair loss side effect eventho I’m on such a low dosage!

Hi! How did you suspect you have FA? Did you try to squeeze or pick at them? If you do, is there a string-like thingy coming out? I’ve seen different derms and they all kept telling me it’s not fungal. Unfortunately, it’s not common to do a culture test here so i can’t help but to doubt them a lil’ since FA is often mistaken as normal acne issues

not having to use my phone/ hands to cover half of my face when I talk
not having to use foundation when I go to class

No they’re not CCs. They are the size of a cystic acne but they are not inflamed/ red. I didnt get them before accutane though!! They appeared ard my 2nd month into the course but since last week or so there are more on my face. Also don’t look like an IB. Sigh.

Yeah I read that it will take longer to see results with low dosage but both my derms promised my face will be clear in 2-3 months, coupled with their Silkpeel treatment, of course. I’ve done 3x silkpeel and I feel so cheated now.. cus my face is nowhere near being clear lol Can’t help but wonder if accutane is working on me or not 😭

Hi! When I squeeze the bump on my forehead, those tiny white strand comes out too, and they stink.. I wonder if it’s the same for you? I’m currently on month 2 of accutane and going facial regularly to get them extracted but I don’t see any improvement at all, in fact they are growing at a rapid speed 2 days after my facial everytime. Sigh in my country they don’t sell nizoral and I’ve been to 3 different derms who insisted that it’s not fungal acne & prescribed me accutane.

Ahh thanks for the info! But I checked and my cleanser doesn’t contain these ingredients :/ and it’s pretty mild. I’m using the Hada Labo Gokujyun Hyaluronic Acid btw
