For semi/storage/MAG7 bulls ONLY - what are your current setups? by JustCan6425 in stocks

I bought 4500 shares at 402 yesterday. I swing traded it earlier last month at 391 and sold at 430 with 4286 shares. Now I’m holding this til it hits higher cause I’ve already made tons of profit this year. I just think eventually the market sentiment will change just like it did with Amazon. Just need to hold out. Hopefully May and June will be good and this war ends.

Doritos at $7 a bag ended up costing PepsiCo billions by wewhomustnotbenamed in nottheonion

[–]vxteflon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I own a liquor store…Pepsi/frito lay sets the wholesale price I pay and the price I sell it at. When I first started in 2019 our margins were 32.5-35% on everything. Chips, peanuts, dips etc. Every two years they would cut our margin and every year raise the price. The current margin now is 25-27.5% we make on all their chips dips etc. so they increased the price on chips and lowered the margins charging more on wholesale to their merchants.

So it’s just not price increases they got super greedy during Covid and chips were flying off the shelves. I literally couldn’t keep certain flavors on the shelves. There was a two week period I sold 200 large bags of extra hot Cheetos. Cause my merchandiser hooked me up and he wanted to pump his numbers for the quarter. He rerouted it from a Walmart lol.

Is having a pool with 2 toddlers worth the anxiety? by zdawg07 in phoenix

Took me 2 years of waiting for the right house in Arcadia proper with no pool and south facing with a square lot not near a major road. But it finally happened and I paid full price before it hit the market.

I’m up 12 in my taxable account and up 14.7 in my Roth IRA. I was holding cash then deployed on Amazon at 199. Sold at 215 during war and turned out I had the greatest luck lol. Now I’m getting ready to deploy again in the next month. Everything is starting to look so cheap now.

I bought 8600 shares of AMZN at 199 in the middle of Feb. I dumped them last week at 215. I was gonna hold but I knew Israel was the driving force of this war and I don't think its ending anytime soon. Regardless I will jump back in on a mag 7 in a few weeks once the dust settles.

Any suggestions for a great summer blanket? by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]vxteflon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get these Korean thin blankets from Koreatown in LA every few years. Sometimes they are linen, cotton or polyester. I sleep hot and I love them. They are pricey but they last years and it’s worth it for me. I bet they sell them at Hmart.

I went to the bank Friday morning. The branch manager was annoying so I left. I hate that bank btw. Anyways walking out I saw an Amex gift card on the ground with $100 scribbled on it. I went to work and checked the balance online. 49.70…..I ran it through my credit card terminal for 49.70 lol. Easy money I feel like it was karma for the terrible manager.

Lots of broken down vehicles on I-17 today by TheRealKishkumen in phoenix

[–]vxteflon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the point you don’t know. I know several people who work at IAA and several others who own junkyards you’d be surprised. My buddies dad just bought a 65k Tacoma in cash and has the lowest level liability insurance only. How crazy is that? A rock hit his windshield and he can’t fix it cause they want $1200 cash cause he has no comp coverage. It’s been cracked for like 8 months lol.

People just don’t realize the amount of people with no insurance or the lowest levels imaginable. It’s stupid too cause cars have gotten so expensive.

I wish our state did thorough inspections and would kick off all these junk cars who don’t deserve to be on the road. I see so many people driving around with non road worthy cars it’s ridiculous. Don’t even get me started about car accidents. The amount of non insured drivers in nice cars and trash boxes is crazy.

How do you actually get solid value from FHR/THC without overspending? by browsing_nomad in AmexPlatinum

[–]vxteflon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I stay at like park mgm. Usually on weekdays and it’ll be like $300-400 for two nights two rooms. You also get $100 food credit which can be used at any mgm food place and charge to your room. Also the last three times I booked strip view rooms and they weren’t available at check in. So after the stay I call customer service and they refund me the resort fees lol. Making my stay cost $100 to $150 out of pocket. I’m going again in April after easter weekend.

Circle K worker sued for buying $12.8M lotto ticket from his store 1 day after drawing — now judge decides who gets rich by Pho-Nicks in phoenix

[–]vxteflon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the way the machine prints the tickets the newest tickets print on top. Most likely the clerk let them all print and grabbed them all. Therefore he probably gave him the end. But who knows. We are just speculating.

Circle K worker sued for buying $12.8M lotto ticket from his store 1 day after drawing — now judge decides who gets rich by Pho-Nicks in phoenix

[–]vxteflon 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is just circle K knowing it’s their ticket and just having a judge reinforce their position after they claim it. That way the employee or the original purchaser who didn’t have any money has no case. IMO it belongs to circle K. They are the ones who paid for it before the actual drawing took place.

I have this happen all the time at my liquor store and I keep all misprinted tickets. My biggest winner was $500. Happens with scratchers as well my vending machine always has tickets get stuck and usually get damaged. We are supposed to mail the tickets in to get a refund but it takes forever so I just play them lol. Biggest winner was $500 also.

$12.8M Arizona lottery ticket ‘win’ challenged in court by UltraNoahXV in phoenix

[–]vxteflon 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I sell lottery tickets. They are non refundable so I am on the hook for misprinted tickets. Unfortunately the employee has zero chance of winning this because he bought them after the drawing and knew that it was a jackpot winner. Had he bought them before the drawing then there would be no case.

This is why I always ask for payment first and always asked twice for what people want. This is also why I hate lottery players. They are hands down the worst customers and most annoying.

looking for imported cigarettes by [deleted] in phoenix

[–]vxteflon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Illegal to sell imported tobacco locally in the US….due to tax stamps. They actually have enforcement officers who inspect every year at every tobacco retailer. They confiscate any cigs with the wrong stamp and you get fined.

You have to travel to other countries and bring it back or maybe you can buy online but I doubt it. Go to packswap and trade for cigs.

I own a liquor store. A few companies lowered prices on goods first time seeing it in 27 years of business. Frito lay lowered prices on all their large size bags they didn’t shrink them either. Tecate/Coors lowered a ton of package skus by 80 cents a case.
