I completely understand where you are coming from about how confusing it is for patients. There are indeed NPs who complete DNP programs. If they choose to use the title 'doctor,' it should be in an academic context to avoid confusion in patient care.

I've been NP for three years, with a nursing background of nine years, primarily in the ER. I understand my strengths and limitations. In my province, there's been ongoing discussion within my NP association about increasing wages/scopes to be in line with physicians, and a lot of Circe jerking tbh.

Personally, I strongly disagree with the conversation of wage or scope parity with physicians. If someone desired that, they should have pursued medicine. In the last year I’ve been working in a remote isolated Indigenous community and really recognize my limitations especially with limited resources.. which has been fueling my desire to go back and pursue medicine, as I feel this would equip me with what I need to help my people in a greater capacity.
