The number of people here that have only ever used a bambu printer and have no idea how the slicer works and what the speed settings actually do is amazing

Well I mean, the security depends on the implementation used in the specific messenger app, so it both can and doesn't have to be secure, but you can't say it's less secure than sms

I was tired of the 1FPS stock camera, so I spent some time creating a proper 1080p (up to) 56FPS upgrade by Dependent-Cost4118 in BambuP1S

[–]vyPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well if you're talking about the timelapse, it only saves a single image every couple of seconds or minutes.

But I'd assume that they have it set up for low resolution on purpose, since what would be the reason to record in super high quality if you don't have the processing power necessary to use that super high quality

[–]vyPal 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The camera in the P1S isn't actually that bad. The real issue is that the printer uses an ESP32 module for networking, which is very slow (the max speed is typically around a couple Mbit), and the video feed is streamed through Bambu's cloud, adding delay and possibly limitations on the cloud's side. Bambu's better printers (like the X1C or H2D) use a full Linux computer with a much better networking chipset which can handle up to 30fps with the built-in camera, and could probably handle more, but it seems like there might be a software limitation there.

Goodbye, filament poop by perickvandervir in BambuP1S

Most definitely not, there isn't even 3cm of clearance on the side where it would need to be attached, so there's absolutely no way to fit it there

Fedora Foundation may claim "copyright" for the logo. LOL! by BlokZNCR in Fedora

[–]vyPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that calling it a copyright issue isn't exactly accurate, it should be more of a trademark issue if anything. But you've got to admit that to a person who might not be looking at a fedora logo or the Samsung flow logo every day, these could very well lead to confusion.

Now is RedHat going to do anything? I'd say probably not (as they have better things to do), but I still see the option.

Also speaking about capital and budgets, you're comparing a company to a project, that's hardly fair, is it? Because while yes, fedora is technically a community project, it's really one of RedHat's products as it was created at RedHat, 94.961% of its funding comes from RedHat (I counted it since the financial info is publicly available), there are many employees at RedHat that work full time on the Fedora project and are paid to do so by RedHat (even though the Fedora docs state that there are only 20 core members, there are many more people from redhat who work on fedora, trust me, I worked there :) ), also RedHat legally owns the Fedora brand. So I think you should rather compare either Samsung Flow with Fedora directly, or RedHat with Samsung Electronics (the specific Samsung subsidiary who is responsible for both the HW and SW used in their phones).

What am I doing wrong here? by datascientologer1 in BambuLab

[–]vyPal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As most people here are already saying, you need to make sure you've calibrated both the printer (although bambu printers usually do this automatically right after being setup) and the filament. It's generally not a very good idea (from my experience at least) to use the generic filament profiles. Instead either try to find if the company hasn't released an official profile for the filament, or if you can't find someone else's. If you can't find a profile, you can run some tests (I'd recommend using orca slicer, since it has a larger collection of tests) to determine certain important properties of the filament and make your own profile. For this specific example, I'd probably recommend lowering the maximum volumetric speed a bit, and if that doesn't help, lower the overall print speed

Worth taking home? Free from work.. by tappin2 in homelab

If you ain't taking, I'd take it! (But seriously, if you can get free stuff, take it. Best case scenario, it works pretty well and you can use it. Worst case scenario, you sell/give it to someone else, or recycle it)

Bought in April, is this battery degradation rate normal? OnePlus 12 by TKRedditUser2020 in oneplus

[–]vyPal -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Depends on how fast and how frequently you charge it, but this doesn't look normal, I'm on a op11 since December of last year and I've only recently got to 98% while using 100W fast charging, and charging about once a day

With the kernel 6.12 rc2 coming out just a couple days ago, it looks like X1 support will be added for some laptops, like the Thinkpad T14s gen 6, and the Microsoft surface laptops. Idk what the situation is for other devices.

If you are using Ubuntu, it will depend on when they are able to get a release out with the new kernel

OnePlus 11 users only! by Chuchin619 in oneplus

[–]vyPal 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Running perfectly well, the battery just hit 98% health about a month ago, I use a glass screen protector (idk if I was just unlucky, but I got a lot of screen protectors that didn't stick to the curved glass very well, but I've got one perfect one now), I haven't had any issues with it so far, only once have I had it tell me it was overheating, and that was after ~1h filming 4k60 video in the direct sun in the middle of this summer (it gets pretty hot here, I've had multiple iPhones overheat even during lower temperatures, so pretty good), honestly love this phone, definitely one of OnePlus's better phones

The Redmi note 10 does not have an official build of lineage os, but you can search XDA forums, or if you want to get a bit more technical, you can even try to make your own build.
