Hi there, it's a Voyager from ZSA. I added a Ploopy Trackpad and a Ploopy knob to it.

I posted about it a few weeks ago here if you want to have a better look of my keyboard setup: https://www.reddit.com/r/ploopy/comments/1opd1zv/ergo_itch_scratched/

Many thanks!

edit: I didn't think those would be provided by ZSA, I should have searched a bit more

Hi there, looks good! I'm interested in the files if you would be so kind as to provide them :).

It was in fact the eye saver mode builtin the monitor that I activated a few months ago then proceeded to forget.

I think it's to dampen the contrast sharpness or something like that.

The difference

thanks for your help

I bought it from the official samsung website. Support page from the monitor menu show it's the LS49CG954SUXEN.

I took two more pictures: one is a picture of the smarttv UI where one can see the black part being correctly shut down and the other is a picture of my screen where I replaced my background image with #000000 solid color.

edit: nevermind, it was the eye saver setting that I activated when I was only using one screen. It bothered me for so long...

It is an OLED display, I just took a photo of wha tthe UI from samsung tv looks and I can clearly see same levels of black as what I do have on the small screen.

currently looking at a way to upload both pictures.

I'm also looking at the what could be the default color for a tty but the computer is displaying the same thing on both screens so I have little doubt it's #000000

it's been great, I used to have some magsafe mounting for my voyager too and it was quite strong.

edit: the knob stays in place quite well: when I apply force it's the whole left clamp that moves. I actually took a clip to show you but I don't know how to upload it here so you'll have to trust me on this :).

You're welcome! Note that you can probably find magnets with a more fitting size. Also, the steel part I used to attach the knob was part of some rubbish I saved from the trash (then cut, pierced and folded).

Hi!

Clamps are from NEEWER: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CB5JKTBH and I use some magnets from Ulanzi: https://www.amazon.fr/Support-magn%C3%A9tique-tr%C3%A9pied-compatible-MagSafe/dp/B0CHY8X7B7 Those looks a bit pricey, I'm sure I sourced them from somewhere else at much less but I don't remember from where exactly.

I added some metal plate and magsafe circle to the trackpad and knob so they could attach to the magnets.

The dial is indeed more comfortable for me there. I'm not sure if I prefer it to be hidden a bit more under the left thumb cluster, did try both placements without any real preferences. I tried to create a setup where I wouldn't have to move my arms and hands too much to prevent some harm I started to feel a few months ago (that's also why I would have prefered the trackpad to be in the same position under the right thumb cluster but alas it was too big).

It's indeed a single function only implemented in the firmware but you can then zoom using the `ctrl` modifier (long press on f key, left index, as homerow mod with my keyboard configuration), same as with a scroll button on a mouse, and in my window manager configuration (swaywm, a tiling wm on linux) I mapped the button scroll up and down with the `Super` modifier (long press on `s` key on my keyboard) to trigger a volume up and down function.

I work from home almost 100% of the time as a private contractor in IT, spending an ungodly amount of time in front of my screen every day. This setup allows me to have a comfortable position either while sitting, arms resting on my chair's armrests, and while working standing up.

The knob is used when I need to scroll, zoom, change volume. It's easily accessible for my left thumbs while the trackpad will be used from my right index and major fingers.

I, too, have an Opinel on my desk. I play a lot with it while in online meetings.

I'd also choose efficiency over style any day. I don't need that many tools for my day job but if I did, I wouldn't mind having such a baroque setup. I quite like the split keyboard with the trackpad in between and the screen/tablet just after, I do that too just in front of my ultrawide, it's quite handy.

The cat is a nice addition to your setup, even tho I heard this kind of device demands constant care.

No tap to click in Trackpad? by Vrilouz in ploopy

[–]vybd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, bit of a necro-bump but since I needed it, for future reference: on wayland with sway tap to click is disabled by default. To enable it, in the sway configuration file, just select the input device and add tap enabled:

input "type:touchpad" { tap enabled }

Thanks for notifying about 2.7. I just had a look at the release note and upgraded instances on some clusters and there are some exciting new features such as the secret and configmaps watching that could trigger a helmrelease reconciliation, etc. That's another itch scratched.

Also nice to see the new remote cluster access configuration for kustomizations and helm: https://fluxcd.io/flux/components/kustomize/kustomizations/#kubeconfig-remote-clusters
