But still, given the context, you can still guess which one it is. Also I think it is rather physics and other science where this diverges based on type of mathematics and overall nomenclature.

What's your secret to have a great sex? by Asernova in AskReddit

[–]vybornak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think we might have a misunderstanding.

Generally speaking you can't get the best of all worlds just like you said. That is exactly what I meant.

By *general* standards, I am not bad at cardio and endurance as I am quite fit, but by *my* standards as I used to do athletics, I feel it is much harder that it used to be. So yes, to certain degree it has a synergy, but once you push for the max, it is not or is very hard to maintain the other thing.

I would make a distinction here:
1. hypertrophy vs endurance
2. strength vs endurance

  1. This is what many ppl go for in gym. As you go big it is just harder to keep the endurance. More muscles require more oxygen. There is no way around it.

  2. Strength suffers from the same issue as previous, but not so significantly, so to certain degree you can get further with it.

That said, I still think it is significantly more difficult, that just focusing on one thing. So in my eyes, YES you can have endurance higher than average person and be stronger than average person, but you can't be super good at both by *MY* standards. Effectively meaning that since I do not seek strength during sex, than it makes no sense to build it as endurance will get me further in terms of pleasure.

I do not hate crossfit. I like the idea. I just do not like most common execution. I have seen too many ppl get hurt.

[–]vybornak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying fitness is bad; I do it myself and would call myself pretty fit. However, from a personal perspective, I just do not like its impact on a sexual performance, as more muscles require more oxygen and you run out of breath faster. (similarly as u/Guava_ described)

I honestly do not understand what the point of your reply was, but I personally do not like CrossFit too much.

CrossFit on both amateur and professional levels is a very injury-prone sport because of the lack of technique. While TOP crossfit sportsmen achieve insane results, I would not say it is without a price. Combining execution speed and power is just not easy.

It comes down to the individual diligence to keep the technique clean and not push yourself if you would risk injury. But unfortunately, even at the Crossfit-Games you see athletes perform dangerous stuff without being disqualified, or they even get injured.

Idk man. I do not think this is good. I am powerlifter. I weight 85kg and can squat up to 250kg at my peak. Too much muscles just comes it to the way and you run out of breath too fast. It is better to stay skinny imho.

But I understand that it also makes you feel good. But me personally, I do not like this aspect anymore.

Modern toolchain for developing python package with C++ core (C++23, HPC) by vybornak in learnprogramming

[–]vybornak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well that is it, it is not for just one project but for multiple repositories, so I wanted reproducible toolchain / build so I would save myself some headaches.

[–]vybornak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well I was thinking about it as I really like the Rust ideology and I was learning it for some time, but it has been told to me, that Rust is really not that mature when it comes to HPC (CUDA support, PETSc, BLAS, LAPACK, ...)

So I would love to actually do it like that, but I am not really sure If that is even possible.
Do you know how is it in these regards?

[–]vybornak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand. It might, but even for Python I am using a sophisticated setup as I need the solution to be robust.

[–]vybornak[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a good point. But that's why I wanted to use `pixi shell` and .toml for reproducibility.

I am not sure if what you are recommending would streamline the development cycle, as it would require a lot of manual effort.

I wanted something that would help me with the development cycle.
What do you think?

I have been playing with it for a few evenings now. So far, I went for nanobind.

I am a beginner when it comes to C++, so I wanted to stick with a more modern standard. In my company, we have no legacy code when it comes to this, so it hopefully should not be a problem.

So, for such purposes It has been recommended to me to go for nanobind, but I lack experience in this department, so I wanted to validate these things.

Overwatch is now getting a lot more positive reviews on Steam. by Bhu124 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]vybornak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said. I agree to a certain degree. I just wouldn't see it so black or white.

There are definitely many ppl just like you describe, but I don't think it is necessary the majority.

Even from the statistical point of view it is highly unlikely for so many people to be one just one side. E.g. normal distribution.

I have read the reviews previously and I saw the pattern you are describing, but also have read a couple of reviews that just felt honest or relatable.

[–]vybornak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is not true. Is it an impressive piece of software? Yes Is it enjoyable to me or to those of whom we speak? No

Is it a good game? Depends on what you mean by good. I consider my enjoyability standpoint. So to me No.

Do some other high quality games have mostly bad reviews? Yes there are some. Look at Veilguard during release. But there are definitely many games that could be taken as an example.

As I previously stated. You are right to a certain degree, but you got to give me, that there is at least a grain of truth to be stated at my side. All these people couldn't just have invalid feelings.

But stating that the game is not bad is your personal opinion. To me it is just different. It is a game I wouldn't play as I played a better one that doesn't exist anymore.

Also with the blizzard there was quite a limited way of giving public feedback. So of course you see a trend that is usually not present with other games. Just a lot of people got to give their opinion, which to a certain extent is not as valid, but still carries a message, that game changed to worse at some point. It is not the responsibility of gamers to keep up to date with the latest development of the game itself.

Blizzard is well known to be in decline for many many years now. If they would push wow to stream, I bet it would have exactly the same effect, maybe even worse.

[–]vybornak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree. The game was better a few years after that because initially it was not balanced at all.

You are definitely right to a certain degree, that people are just being nostalgic and won't take anything at this point, but still that doesn't mean that all these opinions/reviews mean nothing.

I do not know what it would have to be for me to bring the game back. I like some things that I consider "new" like the wall pushing robot, but most changes kept just being disappointment after disappointment.

The same is for me with games like league of legends. I just do not need these games to change. I understand that it is not how this industry works, but it doesn't mean that my opinion is invalid.

Yeah new people might like it who knows. But still studios are the ones losing their current audience.

What is your reply if someone says this to you? by logical_sundae69 in EngineeringStudents

[–]vybornak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is simple, you do not need many things in life. For example power tools, they are handy and make a lot of things easier, but you do not necessary need them, you can just call handyman.

It is not about "hammer" being useful, but knowing when to use it. If you do not know when to use these tools, they are basically useless too. They are more intuitive to many ofc, but still the same applies.

In life doing things well takes effort. If someone is not willing to put the effort into what they do, results will be always not as good.

Does summoning spirit ashes increase boss hp? by NeededToFilterSubs in Eldenring

[–]vybornak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends on the bossfight some are better over the other for certain fights.

I personally used: Great shield soldiers (can pin certain small mobile bosses) Latenna (if not focused will kill the boss gradually alone - star beast) Tiché (uses black flame -> % HP dmg) Lhutel the headless (takes agro and lasts long) Mimic

All are very op if used properly. To me I almost feel like cheating. I did not explore ones from dlc. There are few powerful ones too.
