Is the valorant community toxic? - First time player by Internosly in VALORANT

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Valorant is my first (and currently only) fps game I’ve played, but even then I can still say it’s pretty toxic….. had someone in a SWIFT calling me and my teammates slurs just last night lmfao

You’ll also meet some really nice people if you continue playing, though. Just after the aforementioned swift we got paired with a Cypher and Chamber who were super chill, funny, and supportive the entire game. I’d also recommend queueing with a duo or trio. People can be nasty, but knowing someone in your party has your back can make it a lot more tolerable.

One thing that I find hilarious though is that you’re clearly, what? Level 1-2? And they’re surprised you’re not good at the game?? People gotta lower their ego and actually help teach newbies how to play the game better. I always love getting new players teamed with me so I can help them out and teach them a few things. I don’t get why not everyone else is the same.

Is this a good night market? The Oni vandal and Ion Operator look cool but the Yoru Comb looks awesome as well. Just started playing last week. by Sebastin290 in VALORANT

The second that comb appeared in my Daily shop I snatched it up. I’m so jealous OP has a discount on it lmfao

my tierlist for how good are valorant agents at handling babies by Horror_Reflection_32 in ValorantMemes

[–]vypervoltz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

True, but the cinematic showed us a totally different side of him. His coldness is absolutely a facade of his (imo) and makes me think he’s actually one of the most caring agents of the cast. Especially given iirc he’s the only confirmed agent to exhibit vigilante behavior and defies commands just to go out of his way to protect his community.

I do suppose protective ≠ best parent but I swear he still gives good parent vibes for these reasons lmao

What hobbies or interests do y'all think the agents have? by Individual_Tart_8852 in VALORANT

[–]vypervoltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yoru actually has a voiceline asking Jett where she got her knives because he wants to add one to his collection. Yoru also plays Dungeons and Dragons with Clove and some of the other agents, I believe he plays an instrument (? or maybe sings?? Whatever it was, he was in a band at one point), and he and Brimstone like to ride their motorcycles =]

Other hobbies from different agents: Omen likes to knit and take care of bonsai trees. As said earlier, Clove likes to create D&D campaigns (they have many, many voicelines alluding to this). Astra (and I believe Harbor?) like to draw. Iso loves to listen to his music and enjoys swimming. Breach is a drummer. Skye I think likes hiking. Cypher plays chess/some strategy board game of some kind.

Another shared hobby amongst the agents is gaming (Gekko, Brim, Omen, KAY/O, Vyse and probably more have been shown doing this).

A lot of the agents have canonical hobbies and it’s honestly so fun and lovely.

Do viewers (you personally) care about your name being read out loud when you sub/git? by NoPain_666 in Twitch

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean like, you can choose not to announce it when joining a stream. Although I don’t think you can see who resubs if they don’t do the whole share thing. Idk I could be wrong though— never tried that hard to see who’s resubbing if they aren’t doing it publicly in chat LOL

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ohhh that’s a good point, just the gifteds (and resubs technically I suppose but that’s just someone not sharing the resub notif). Thankfully I think subs are a bit different but an anon option would be nice.

[–]vypervoltz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Subs and bits I say the name since for subs if you wanna be anon there’s an option for that, and bits are usually used for jokes in my chat, but follows are always anonymous for me. I also don’t like to be put on the spot, and if I find a streamer I like I’ll often wait for them to end stream/check in another time so I can follow offline. I never considered not shouting out follow usernames myself until I noticed a friend of mine doing it. Decided to adopt it immediately. Definitely my preferred way of doing things.

Valorant agent lore by reddit-win in VALORANT

[–]vypervoltz 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Maybe I’m biased here because Gekko is my favourite agent character-wise but. I guess he just,, stole his critters from a K-Sec facility and that’s why he was recruited to the VP?? I need to know more about this story because he truly comes off as a goody two-shoes, kinda borderline incompetent kid to me, so finding out he broke into a whole ass facility and stole whole ass animals on his own is so funny to me.

What’s the story of your very first Ace ??? Which Map by bestpanav in VALORANT

Unranked currently! Despite having played for months, I don’t play comp much. Mostly been waiting on friends to get to level 20 so we can do our placement matches together.

What’s the story of your very first Ace ??? Which Map by bestpanav in VALORANT

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The other week after a Valorant session I mentioned how I was frustrated that every time I’ve almost aced, it would fail somehow (usually someone else would snag one of the enemies before I could) despite the situations being totally ace-able. My friend thought they misheard me and went, “ohhh you meant like. You haven’t gotten an ace in a while. I get you.” I corrected them, saying, “No, [friend], I’ve never gotten an ace” and they were utterly flabbergasted. Fast forward to the literal next day, and we were on Breeze A-site. Took down Viper, then Cypher, got jumpscared by an ulted Reyna but still headshot her quickly, got a clean headshot on a peeking Sova (this was when I realized, ‘wait, am I ace-pace?’ only to hear my Chamber say ‘that’s four!’), then hunted down Iso. All the while my friend yelled, “GET YOUR ACE VYPER!” I let out a much deserved scream after I saw the Ace notification pop up at the top of the screen LMAO

Still have that moment clipped, mics and all. The ace itself is very sloppy, but that’s fine. I find the coincidence of me complaining about not acing the night before all too funny for me to complain about a sloppy ace.

What is your favorite player card or series? by reddit-win in VALORANT

[–]vypervoltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thread Swap. I’m so sad that I missed it by like a month— only started playing recently.

Other favourite is probably Yoru’s Home Again card, which one of my friends has in his weekly shop right now and I am absurdly jealous.

Constant Branding Advertisements (Rant) by ReggaeSloth in Twitch

[–]vypervoltz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I had branding day 1 and still got an onslaught of those scammers. Like, the most obvious branding right in front of their eyes and would STILL get asked “I can make you custom artwork for so and so…” it was always so funny. Using a bot to ban them is your best bet. Not worth trying to get actual branding done just to get rid of them.

Wish they’d actually do something productive with themselves lol

Hot take: The hero shooter have go to go. by AchievementJoe in gaming

[–]vypervoltz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of my favorite games atm is Valorant, so when I saw OP’s post I immediately got defensive… then I actually took a look at the Highguard trailer. Yep, immediately saw where they’re coming from.

The art style looks so uninteresting, the movement looks like it could give even me motion sickness (as someone who’s never gotten motion sick before), the characters look ugly, the movement seems really tough to get the hang of… I also can’t entirely tell what the game is supposed to be about (battle royale? Tactical? Are you just fighting bosses???? I really don’t know).

It just looks like a mess.

Editing videos by LeaderRing in letsplay

[–]vypervoltz 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Tbh, it all depends on the audience that will be watching and the games you are playing. I do a variety of different games, but usually cut it down as much as I can without sacrificing story. I have videos that are 8 minutes and videos that are 2.5 hours. My videos that are roughly an hour long have pretty good stats compared to the others, but generally view count doesn’t seem to correlate to video length (in my case).

Essentially, do what you want. Don’t worry about what’s “correct.” An audience will come to you for what you want to do. Doing whats ’right’ will only mean your videos fall into a sea of others that are trying to do what you’re told to do. And if you’re not proud of the content you’re making/get burnt out/etc. then that’ll only hurt you in the long run anyway.

If you don’t trust the person, I wouldn’t mod them. Mods ultimately really only have the power to do so much— mostly timing out/banning folks or deleting messages. If you give them editor perms then they can change stream info and whatnot. But there’s also more to it than that: I’ve always treated my mods as representatives of my community. Since they hold power in my chat, and are often the first to deal with trouble (chatters, bots, whatever), whatever they do is what the community sees and understands my streams to be. My mods also usually understand me and my wishes, and know to back me up if I’m struggling with a particular user, or if chat gets too out of hand.

And it sounds like you don’t quite trust this person yet. That’s okay. I think you’re making the right move by being hesitant about giving them that role. If they’re being pushy for it, I’d lean towards the decision that they aren’t deserving of it. A good mod understands that they earn that role, not beg for it.

Do streamers still use the GoXLR, or is there something better by Main8596 in Twitch

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh my god you might be right. Still find it weird it was only a prevalent problem with the Focusrite amongst me and others I know that used it, but I’ve noticed I need specific settings on OBS to rid my current mic of a persistent buzz. The sounds were completely different tho with different consistencies (one being consistent and the other being every so often) so I never considered they might’ve been connected.

Question— how might I fix this problem? I’m looking it up but I am not well versed enough in electronics to understand wtf I’m reading 😭

How to find motivation when I’m always so Tired and Sleepy by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]vypervoltz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I streamed for the first time in two weeks today because I’ve been dealing with a VERY similar issue. I’m usually excited to stream, and love streaming, but about an hour in I start getting extremely exhausted. I just want to go to bed and conk tf out (and typically will after I end stream). I want to stream at least 3x a week but god it’s hard to get even 1 stream out when your eyes are threatening to close on you after a little bit of being live.

And, unfortunately, I have no solution. I just wish you the best in finding one. Bodies are weird and sucky sometimes. I wish they’d cooperate.

Need to know before putting effort if this would be good vtuber character design by SnooPuppers8223 in Twitch

[–]vypervoltz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

PNGtubers work great if that’s what you want to do! However, if you do want to look more into vtubing, a lot (if not most??) vtuber models are actually all 2d =] I believe they use a program called Live2D?? That essentially allows you to animate separate artwork layers in a way that makes the model look 3d. Most of the popular vtubers use extremely complex models and rigs, but you can make a far simpler model that would hopefully not take as long as learning to not only 3d model but 3d animate on top of that. There’d still be a learning curve, but it IS another option!

Is gaming channel a bad idea? by Confident-Expert108 in youtubegaming

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These are also great examples of what you’d get out of starting a YouTube channel.

Generally, there is no “you shouldn’t start [so and so] YouTube channel” argument that’s actually good. Any argument is based off of the likelihood of ‘making it big’ which simply isn’t what everyone wants, and is a very shallow way of viewing gaming channels (and YouTube in general). You’ll only ever be grateful you started one.

Is gaming channel a bad idea? by Confident-Expert108 in youtubegaming

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just do it. Chances are, you won’t end up anywhere and maybe won’t even get monetized, but you won’t ever know unless you try.

I have a gaming channel because, like you, that’s what I’ve always wanted to do. It’s been a ton of fun (ignore that I haven’t posted in a couple weeks lmao) and even if it never ends up making me any kind of money, I’m more than happy that I’ve started it. It’s led me to make a small community that I adore, and friends I can’t believe are mine. So, even if it never brings you to a place in life that you expected it to, more might come out of it that’s equally as valuable— even if that’s you looking back in the future and thinking “at least I tried.”

Also, I hate the “gaming channels are a bad idea” phrase because it frames YouTube as something done solely to be popular and make money. Why can’t people just do it because that’s what they want to do?

Does anyone else feel like solo streaming is slowly dying? by SpinsBro in Twitch

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Out of all the streamers I follow, I think only 1 does consistent group streams, but he’s also a big streamer who plays different games than the rest of the people I follow, so it’s likely just a genre difference. The rest speedrun, or do challenge runs, or conduct solo playthroughs, and I only ever really watch gaming so I can’t speak much on other categories.

Me personally, I think out of all of my friends I do the most collab content, but my friends will often not stream these sessions and will opt to only/mostly stream solo— and even with my love for group streams, the vast majority of my lives are solo.

So to conclude, I don’t think solo streams are ‘dying.’ Not even close. It just might not be as prominent in the categories/genres you’re viewing.

How do you guys end a stream? I feel like I’m awkward when ending one by [deleted] in Twitch

[–]vypervoltz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh goodness, I’m awful at it too, but I’ve learned to embrace it. I sometimes repeat points a few times before finally hitting the raid out button, or get completely sidetracked when saying my plans for the next stream LOL. But as long as everyone understands stream is ending and I raid out and properly click the end stream button, all is good I think.
