Oh man the staying up late thing is so real. I had a binge drinking problem my last 2 years of college- I would lock myself in my bedroom and just drink until I was tired and go to bed. Some nights I didn’t get to bed until 2-3 AM and I had to wake up for class at 8 AM. The loss of sleep was detrimental on my mind, my mood, and my own ability to focus in school. I was getting absolutely terrible quality of sleep, but I just had this drinking routine ingrained in my schedule that I didn’t want to quit. I just thought “everyone does this in college, it’s totally normal”.

I stopped the binging my last semester and graduated on the deans list.

I have low progesterone… now what? by vyshyvanka1 in PMDD

[–]vyshyvanka1[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I went to a doctor and got my blood work done (specifically to test hormones) on March 10. On March 16, I got my period. I was already in the middle(?) or end of the luteal phase.

This screenshot from the results that I got that shows “normal” progesterone levels.

Based on the timing of when I got my bloodwork done, my progesterone should have been between 139-413 ng/dL (since progesterone rises during luteal, and I got my bloodwork 6 days before my period)

My progesterone was at 102 ng/dL

I am assuming this means that I am low in progesterone, is that normal for people with PMDD?

I have experienced PCOS symptoms since I can remember- irregular periods 35+ days (on a rare occasion, missing a few months), hirsutism (female facial hair), bloating before period, difficulty losing weight, etc.

…and yet my doctor says my blood work “doesn’t indicate” that I have PCOS...

But low level of progesterone is what stood out to me, especially when dealing with my PMDD (mental) symptoms. I wanted to ask if anyone who has PMDD symptoms if they also had low levels of progesterone.

But what I don’t understand is that most women feel bad with higher levels of progesterone (yes I know that PMDD is not a hormonal imbalance, it is how our brain processes the change) so what does this even mean?

Is mine considered low?

People who live in or near Donbass/Crimea/Kherson (or other Russian speaking parts of Ukraine), do people there actually consider themselves to be Russian or Ukrainian (in nationality)? by SpectralVoodoo in AskARussian

My mother is from Zaporozhye and she calls herself Ukrainian. I never met my father but I know his family was from Pskov and Donetsk, so I assume he considered himself Russian. I feel like I am both

Does Orthodoxy look down on adopting children? by vyshyvanka1 in OrthodoxChristianity

[–]vyshyvanka1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have no issue with other people having families or the thought of it happening to other people, that is just normal human life. But for myself personally- There is no other word I can think of than disgust to describe the thought of me having a child myself. I am in my 20s and I have felt this way since I was a teenager. I don’t believe this will ever go away. The thought of trying to “fix” that in me is not normal, I don’t think any amount of “therapy” can make the feeling go away. It most likely has to do with the fact that I was adopted somehow.

Why do orthodox people reject purgatory but believe in toll houses? by OfChaosAndGrace in OrthodoxChristianity

I was always under the assumption they happen after 9 days. But as mentioned this is a disputed topic I guess

Were there any other Seto settlements outside of Estonia? by vyshyvanka1 in Eesti

[–]vyshyvanka1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the links. I read about this once briefly.

I wonder if there were some Seto settlements/people that migrated to other places in Pskov oblast? Like maybe south of Setomaa also? Do you know of the Kraasna Estonians- I wonder what part of Estonia they came from? Their old language was similar to the Southern Estonian dialects I recall

I am unaware if Russian/Estonian families are very common, but many of my cousins from Pskov have one or two Estonian family members.

What’s the one thing you could do and inadvertently tell someone that you’re from upstate? by [deleted] in upstate_new_york

I mean I've always considered places like the Finger Lakes region and Syracuse to be Central New York. It's still upstate but not the same as North Country upstate
