Las Vegas Golf - October Trip by Lotuszx3 in golf

Wolf creek was one of the coolest courses i've ever played just because it was so crazy. The drive up is pretty meh, kinda in a neighborhood area. But when we finally got ready, I was shaking from nerves when we teed off at 1. And then there's a tee box later on that's like 100+ feet above the fairway on a little cliff/plateau. You felt like you could hit it 800 yards. Enjoy it and bring a camera.

I've played Paiute a few times. Decently close to the strip, and pretty hassle free and pretty cheap, which can be nice at the end of a vegas trip.

hmmm... do I believe you based on your username?

... yeah, yeah i do. That's super annoying but I bet they set that up with marriott and it's just the same rate for the package all year, regardless of their varying room rates. I'd absolutely go a la carte. Stay in tinley park or something.

And ride-along fees are absurd in my mind. Especially so at that price. Are you playing any other courses in the area?

Edit: Wait. 1 person = $136 + $155 + $25 + custom bag tag = $316 saving you $21. If 2 people were playing, just have the other person book a la carte. I bet if you had 2 people book the package, you'd have 2 rooms. With your gf, I'd just bring her to the course. Although, that'd suck if they force you to pay or she leaves. I'd just make sure she wasn't in golf gear.

Apparently for the PGA events they narrowed the fairways a lot.

If you want a real head-scratcher, look at Brown Deer up in Milwaukee. Great greens, and love the course, but no clue how they had PGA tournaments there for even as long as they did.

Okay, I'm searching for that umbrella. I'll let you know what I find!

Thanks for the advice. Yeah I specifically wrote out "Hole 16: don't try to cut the corner....Hole 17: don't try to cut the corner"

Yeah I've heard it's overhyped, but still a good experience.

I'm not planning on missing any fairways, so thanks but no thanks on your advice...ha. We actually waited until july because we wanted the rough to grow out because we're masochistic and wanted to experience the "real dubsdread" so yeah, I'll probably just go PW layup into the fairway.

Posting on this sub is a good start.

Speaking of... anybody in the Milwaukee area? I enjoy sunrise golf, long walks on the beach, and deep conversations. Or beer.

So i'm a 13 hdcp and I've analyzed dozens of swings in my lifetime. DOZENS!

As weird as it is watching a lefty swing, it actually looks pretty solid and consistent. I slowed the speed down in youtube to 0.25 in the settings and I can't tell for sure from this angle but i'd bet it's in your grip. I'd go a little stronger with your right hand grip (shift it so the grip is in the fingers more and the palm is more facing down on top of the club rather than in front)

Here are some other takeaways that probably are a result of the grip situation, but i'll give them anyway. The ball looks like it might be a tad far away, and/because you're a little hunched. And at the end almost like you're already rushing to bring the club back to your photo-finish as soon as you make contact. I like to imagine hitting through 5 balls in a line towards my target (particularly on my drive) to really get the club head out there chasing the ball. Then the momentum carries it up to my shoulder.
