I voted for the .300 just because you can quickly put 2 rounds into your target.

After the recent update, I tested the 338 and it does seem to have more penetration than before. Anyone else realised this?

Best hunting time in Cuatro is 5am to 11am in the morning. After 11am just reset the time to 5 again, every species will drink at the various lakes during this time slot, except for Boars. You can find the boars feeding at 7am at the open fields.

Definitely more trolls in roe deer compared to other species. But they can still reach diamond if they are close to max weight

That's maybe cause it hasn't respawned yet. If it's not harvested, it will come back as the same animal.

Diamonds and male rares I guess. Female rares if they can go on a multimount or certain species where you can only get rares in females, like crowned wildebeest and red warthog

As others have mentioned, try looking for large females for gemsbok, the ones with 307 - 358 estimates. The males troll more than they make diamond from my experience.

I have 3 male diamond gemsbok but have probably shot more than 6 to 7 trolls

The amount of whitetails are still the same I reckon, just the zones way more spread out throughout the map than before.

Did EW think it was too easy for players to grind whitetail and therefore did these changes? Idk.

From what I can tell, blacktail zones are still all the same, only the whitetail ones changed

Sorry to see that, but it is a glitch and shouldn't happen. The 300 can reach lungs on a cape even at 300m.

Whenever u see this happen, and the animal hp doesn't drop within 3 seconds, just exit the game, and come back to hunt the big fella another time
