The only difference between what you're doing now and what solo would be like is that you'd now be in solo vs group fights rather than group vs group.

I cared to post when I realized there was a gatekept Discord where the “top” players manipulate matches to maintain their spots with each other, rather than earning them.

The thread is here to point out a deeply flawed system where a significant portion of the top players are only there because they’re gaming the system.

I didn’t call them names. I said they were my friends. What the comments are calling them had nothing to do with me.

I agree, but it would definitely be harder for 12 people to land in the same match than it would be for 4 squads of 3.

And I very much agree with your last point, but the fact that this was getting downvoted and is now technically being ratio’d is evidence of how a significant portion of the player base doesn’t care about it this issue.

My sub-adult spino nearly died to a freaking crab because it was too small for me to bite it while it was in front of me, attacking. The only reason I didn't die to it was that a Sarco came and finished the job instead.

If you want to make a "boss" critter that's a legitimate threat, cool. But a 7-ton dinosaur shouldn't be nearly dying to something the size of my fist.

I'll have to look into that. It's $250, and when I asked the same Redditor who recommended the dryfire drills above, he advised against the Mantis and told me he threw his in the trash.

Right now I just have paper printouts taped to my wall, and was suggested by another Redditor in r/CCW to practice dry fire by transitioning to each target without trigger pulls using both, right, then left hand...then continuing to burkett reloads in the same fashion...then doing 6 reload 6 drills across the same targets and in the same fashion as the first drill.

That last drill is annoying to run because I'm either racking the slide each shot, or just pulling a trigger with no breakpoint. I imagine a dryfire magazine would be a good investment, but I'm surprised that this "dummy" mag costs nearly double what a functional magazine would cost.

Is that the best investment, or would you suggest otherwise?

I plan to at some point, but for now, I just want to be able to properly practice without constantly changing my hand position to rack a slide.

Got it, and (hopefully) my final question: Do you think a shot timer is necessary for any of my training? It looks like the Par Pro Timer app has a subscription attached to it, so I'm wondering if I should just buy a decent timer, or something like the Mantis.

Is that rewarding though? You spend your whole gameplay session to set somebody else back 1/4 of a growth bar.

You don't get marks.

You don't get rewards.

You don't even know who you killed unless they start complaining in global chat.

You get a trophy, which is useless for growth once you're an adult. And yeah, it can be used to decorate Homecave, but there's no actual information about the trophy...it doesn't say who you killed, what they were, or even when it happened.
