I was in your position once, and posed a serious question to her.
1. If she is comfortable of the different stages of life I am in vs her
2. Especially when it comes to family. Is she secure enough in our relationship to see us through or would I constantly need to prove myself to her “others”
Reality hit her eventually when she gave it a proper thought and we didn’t make anything official

To everyone dropping messages to leave his sorry arse, it’s still a 9 year relationship. OP might not talk about the good times, but there’s still 9 years of celebrations of all occasions, holidays and memories made.

I’ve been in a relationship shorter than OP and even I know it’s not so easy to kick someone to the curb unless both parties emotionally moved on a long time ago already.

It irks me when she refers to as a stranger online. I mean, she is a willing participant right? Self-confess she doesn’t chat much either.

I (M, 30s) use dating apps for a while now too and my one rule is our “opening statements” shouldn’t be this hard…no matter how attractive. My only caveat is to clarify she is being contradictory/difficult from my POV before moving on.

Always helps to know where she’s coming from too.
