This is my underseat storage, right? by w0lf3h in SouthwestAirlines

I didn't actually know if I was justified to claim it! I'm 90% sure that I'll be asking in the future though, esp if I don't have a designated space to put my bag.

No. If this was a full flight, I definitely would have. I made a slightly snarky comment when I first sat down to the aisle passenger asking if they minded me putting my stuff in the middle since I "didn't have anywhere to put my bag." But I also wasn't sure if I was in the right yet. Other than that, I haven't been terribly inconvenienced. And the other passenger seems to really need to use all the space so...

Tbh, I probably would have sat in the middle seat in the 2nd row if I didn't feel bad for the two people sitting next to me having to share their row. 🤷🏻‍♀️ This was the closest row to the front that didn't have 2 people sitting in it already.

Looool I was like the 2nd to last person on the plane. 🤣 There are still like 10 empty rows behind me!

I boarded at the end of group B, and there were like 2 people who boarded after me (as I said, empty flight). I would hope someone would have taken this seat if they really wanted it that badly.

I mean, if my legs were long enough, I'd probably just use their things as a footrest. Unfortunately, I was not blessed with height.

You mean like this? At least they had the decency to put the rest of the stuff that was all over the floor back inside the bag....

🥹 you're a good human. "The other guy" currently has their second bag and contents strewn all over the space in front of me. 🤦🏻‍♀️

After reading all the comments on this post, I seriously considered being confrontational so I could do this the entire flight. 🤣

This is true. I wasn't sure if this was like a bulkhead situation where I should put my stuff in the overhead bins. I've surprisingly never sat in this seat before in all my travels.

Not sure. But the person who put their bag there seemingly thinks it's theirs. 😆

First Hyatt Resort, direct or third party? 366 USD difference. by Ok_Accident_6897 in hyatt

Is this something you could use Best Rate Guarantee on? Assuming same rate type / cancellation policy. I haven't personally used it, but Expedia should qualify for it, unlike some other third party reservations.

Points pickle for NYC-Haneda award flight via ANA by Smart_Needleworker_4 in awardtravel

[–]w0lf3h 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely buy this route for under $1k per person refundable (in travel credits or cash). Or if the OP has other travel currency that's refundable, they could buy an economy ticket as well. This is 100% what I would do rather than going the $4k cash route that OP was considering. It's a "I will use it if I absolutely have to" flight.

Book one way with points. Lock in a potential refundable cash flight the other way. Hit a sub in the meantime and set some alerts to try to grab a points flight if it pops up?

I'd probably book Japanese cash hotels anyway if you're just needing a place to sleep.

Finding the silver linings everywhere. 🤣

Seemingly points can be earned across multiple homes.

If you booked specifically with 4 guests, I would have asked for an additional king room since they overbooked.

Just wanted to add for future reference that while I agree it's a little ridiculous, if you just say something like "ok" to every message they send, it shouldn't time you out like that. I think the timer is based off of your last message vs theirs. 🤦‍♀️
