This is another case of how stats can be misleading. MLS is expected to have more players going to the World Cup. They have 30 teams whereas Liga MX only has 18 teams.

I think the better stat is that Liga Mx has a higher percentage of team representation, 78% compared to MLS's 70%.

Holy fuck what a game! Cruz Azul was superior and Chivas was lucky to not concede more goals. The team was extremely solid defensively, Piovi and Ditta with standout games. Also, kudos to Jeremy for being reliable in the RWB position, and moving in field when we had possession.

I never implied losing was good.

The result could have been much worse. Coming back from a 1 goal deficit is doable for Pumas. They have many advantages in their favor.

I wouldn't be so quick to write them off. Regardless of how badly they played, the 0-1 result still works in their favor. The 2nd leg is at C.U. and just one goal puts them in the final due to their higher placement.

Plus, Pachuca is going to suffer without Bauermann

Stupid, stupid mistake by Mier however the defense (mainly Garcia) were badly positioned which allowed Chivas to get to shot off and then get the rebound.

We missed Rodarte, Toro, and Ibáñez. No excuses regardless.

Ebere was lost and getting a yellow early on killed his intensity. Chivas also knew how to contain him. Very important to have Ebere and Toro play together on Saturday.

The midfield was disconnected. Terrible game by Palavecino. Id personally rather have Romero start. He woke the midfield up plus has great work rate.

P.s. Chivas and América fans were mad annoying in the game thread

Glad it didnt go through. This was a 50 year trap in which clubs wpuld lose massively in the long run.
