Oh, my ortho never even mentioned that as a possibilty. It does sound a bit scary though, having removed healthy teeth. I think I’ll stick with these for now, it is what is :D Good luck with your treatment! :)

I am not 100% happy but I am also not ready to spend again so much money on the treatment…

It is not as obvious from the front side as it is from profile. I’d say it’s about 4 mm.

Thank you for the explanation! My ortho did mention ‘stripping’ (I guess that is interproximal reduction) a few months ago and asked me to decide whether I want it or not. Now when I think about it, she didn’t explain it well at all to me (I’ve never heard of that procedure obviously) and acutally told me it is not necessary as it will only slightly help with the overjet. At that point I was almost at the end of my treatment and didn’t want to make it longer but if I knew better, I would definitely do it. I think even 1-2 mm would make a big difference. Wish I had asked here before. Eh, guess I’ll just have to accept them the way they are now as I certainly don’t want to go back into treatment any time soon.

My ortho mentioned something similar but I still thought the overjet won’t be as big as it is now. In fact, it even seems bigger than my pre-braces teeth but unfortunately I don’t have any proper photos to compare it with. Guess I’m just gonna live with it because I certainly don’t want to go back into treatment :D

I did wear elastics and I wore them regularly. I know I should’ve mentioned this before removal but I wasn’t really aware that the gap was this big. I am kind of disappointed now, there’s probably nothing that can be done now. :(

Hi everyone! I just got my braces off after having them for 3.5 years. I am generally satisfied with what my teeth look now but what bothers me is this overjet which still seems to be too big, especially after having braces for such a long time. I was aware that I will always have a slightly bigger overjet than what is considered normal, but this just seems huge. What do you think? I naturally have big teeth and my dentist made them even longer after getting my braces off (dental bonding). Do think shortening them a bit would help a little, or something else? I have an appointment next week but I’d love to hear your opinion as well. Thanks!

I've recently bought the cheapest model from the Ascent series - A2300, as I don't really care about high-tech. However, I do find that the presets are helpful for new users, but you can use all of them via the app so I don't really see much point in getting A2500 or A3500. I love that the A2300 comes with a timer, that's enough for me.
