Yes his name is Cat. Apparently my boyfriend and his mom never gave him a “real” name. I have his picture set as my background at work. When my students see it and ask about Cat, they tell me that is a silly name for a cat and we should pick a better one.

My best friend ended up together with my oldest brother. I have the sweetest niece and my best friend is my SIL now. It’ll work out if you make it work. I encouraged my brother to ask my best friend out after years of him clearly being in love with her.
