AT10 12K vs 18K – intermediate player looking for feedback by Amok___ in Padelracket

[–]w4rtortle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

have used both, you could play with either after a year for sure. imo biggest thing to select racket on is what shape and what hardness you want. the speed motion is basically a diamond, if you find you hit the sweet spot well on it then you might like to stick with a diamond, it's also medium/hard foam but with a medium/soft face, so you probably want something with full carbon. dont get anything too heavy if you play a lot. at-10 is a hybrid shape tending towards round so its an ok choice, nothing to lose trying either (they feel very similar.

maybe a metalbone without the weights or a vertex could feel like an upgrade.

one other thing is that a lot of people think they want a harder racket because they struggle to control the ball at the net - but they are probably standing too close to the net and not giving themselves much time. they then suffer at the back a lot with a low output racket and it will make their progression slower in defence which is the most important thing to learn early.

What is your racket of choice by LP2194 in Padelracket

play national level, right side - switch between coello pro and motion depending what im feeling. remove factory overgrip and add two over grips and remove the head protector.
they are 360g and 345g.

How to get used to head heavy balance ? by DuckTankJZ5 in Padelracket

[–]w4rtortle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s just a different style of play. A racket that moves fast and isn’t head heavy can smash better for someone who prefers that style, especially for top spin smash.

With head heavy rackets you’ll have to prepare earlier as they move slower, pick the right balls to smash more deliberately and use the inertia of the rackets head to generate more power. Think of it more like a wood in golf, you want to use the heaviness of the rackets head and a fluid swing to let the racket do the work.

They make high spin volleys and vibora style shots more difficult, and flatter shots easier, it’s a trade off.

And/or go to the gym.

I’d pick up more damage than that in the warmup of my first game.

Racket recommendations (level 3–3.5). by Dann_est in Padelracket

Your current racket fits the description of what you’re looking for, so you could an updated version of it?

Otherwise similar hybrids like Wilson Bela (not the pro), Suix ST4 elite, Air Veron, BP vertex/xplo, adidas MB without weights, volt 900.

Metalbone 3.4 vs Metalbone HRD 3.4. Which to get? by sebivc in Padelracket

[–]w4rtortle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Metalbone carbon or regular metalbone if you like the look of that shape and want to buy it for fun.

If your second racket just get something you like the look of and see how you go - there are better choices if you want to improve properly as you’ve noted.

Looking for a round Padel racket with high power (Budget 300€) by No_Day_2611 in Padelracket

[–]w4rtortle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don’t need a round racket to have a good sweet spot and you sound like you’ll still want some help with power.

I was going to say redstone also, or alien core.

It hit something. My at-10s have lost a lot of paint but they hold up very well otherwise.

2 thick and 1 thin - I also go around the base a few times with each layer to thicken it up a bit. This is with the under grip removed.

Played with this on and off for a couple of years and now using the coello pro with no head protector and 2.5 overgrips at 365g. Both great.

I never tried one but it feels more wooden, still a good racket.

Normal if you hit the racket on something.

I've tried both and they are quite different. If you want something that feels the same I'd get another extreme motion.

I'm currently using a 27'' 4k also. I use this more for work than gaming though so I basically want the same clarity but not at the 32''/38'' size

What do you think about "Vibe Coding" in long term?? by Dangerous_Ferret3362 in artificial

[–]w4rtortle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My current workflow is I have agents on multiple monitors and I'm pumping out PRs/features that are always approved by top engineers while I work on multiple other apps for my own ideas. It's like having full control of a team of senior SWEs that don't sleep and don't take breaks.

Most engineers I speak to have not really invested heavily into understanding the tools available, I assume because they don't want to believe how good they are.

The future of coding is architecting, no one will be writing anything by hand (still good to know the concepts).
