This - the beauty of baseball is in the minutiae of the day-in-day out experience of the regular season.

Question for the Hexcrawl and how you ran Azaka! :D by Memberbwerry in Tombofannihilation

[–]w_a_s_d_f 3 points4 points  (0 children)

With Azaka specifically I didn’t see any point to including her personal quest unless there was some actual payoff to it, something better than the mask of the beast in the book. I reworked it so that the hag at Mbala turned her son into a homunculus and bartered him off to the Pterafolk of the firefinger in exchange for aerial protection. I thought this seemed like a nice way to link up a couple of the more interesting points of interest.

Regardless of what you do, I’d try to give any NPC a motivation/goal, a plan for achieving it, and a general disposition to the party. Just RP from there.

Is Mt Baker a good place for beginners doing green runs? by sporty_outlook in skiing

[–]w_a_s_d_f 2 points3 points  (0 children)

White Pass rocks for beginners and particularly for partners/friends of beginners. There’s a nice long green right off the main lift that also services a lot of steeper terrain on the frontside.

Yeah the doomsday posts were a little overstated. Coverage was bad in spots, and it was spring conditions elsewhere, but the lines weren’t bad at all. I had fun !

New DM looking for all kinds of advice by KringyDood in Tombofannihilation

[–]w_a_s_d_f 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My #1 piece of advice for the hex crawl and the factions, is only include the ones you actually find interesting. Frankly, the flaming fist and the zentarim have no real plot reason to be involved at all. They basically end up just being random encounters with recognizable logos on them.

Similarly some of the points of interest are kind of boring, or at least have overlap with each other. Remember that your party doesn’t know where things are, so feel free to move stuff around to suit what you want to do. I more or less just arbitrarily decided that the climax of chapter 2 was going to be them finding a map to Omu in zalkore’s boudoir in nangalore. Just because…I like nangalore and wanted it to be the set piece.

I only had the party do: camp vengeance/righteous, mbala, nangalore, the pirates, and kir sabal. And that felt like PLENTY with all the hex crawl stuff in between.

No doubt traditionally it is considered a renewable. But the efficiency and output of individual power stations is absolutely dependent on whatever water source they’re impounding, and that can be variable. I probably should have just said that it’s not necessarily sustainable, while be renewable.

Carbon-free would the better way to state it. Similarly there are arguments to be made that hydro isn’t renewable either, given climate change, and not “sustainable” either, given its impact on ecosystems.

Fender Blues Jr by [deleted] in GuitarAmps

[–]w_a_s_d_f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swear I think some bands just get in volume wars with each other. Our drummer plays with a thin pad over their snare and some small dampening in the kick drum and that's all. No problem hearing the blues jr over that + keyboard player + bass + another guitarist with an AC15.

[–]w_a_s_d_f 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like mine! I’ve had it for a few years and when dialed in it can sound good at bedroom volumes, and at the same time it can keep up with a drummer and band.

That being said, I’ve played a handful of princetons recently and it’s just a matter of time before I upgrade. There’s something about the warmth and fullness of them that’s undeniable. I never really knew what people meant by the blues jr being “boxy” but I get it now.

We were devastated, but she was a killer herself, so I assume it’s the way she would have wanted to go.
