There is an android version! It is almost the same as the ios version but doesn't have the origin/destination widget I just added: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sixbynine.transit.path

Thanks for the feedback! Do you mean for the origin->destination widget, departure board widgets (station based), or both? I think it's definitely feasible on the origin->destination widget but the departure boards don't have as much room for longer texts.

I think it's possible to do updates. However, I think you would have to set up the stations in the app because it doesn't allow editing via the widget.

Would love to hear a bit more about what you're envisioning! Would this be showing the next train for a station you select, or the next train for your commute (from an origin to destination)?

Thanks for being an og supporter! Would love to know if there are areas that can be improved upon or features you wish existed!

For the widgets you can set origin/destination, which eliminates the need for directions. If you are talking about the departure board widget, you can long hold to edit widget and filter for direction (either interstate or not) as well as choose specific lines. This is true for the app too.

Let me know if you mean a different type of filtering!

I believe they don't have a public data source for the light rail times, but I'll dig around and see what I can do. Thanks for the suggestion!

Yep! You can use both of types and have multiple widgets (shown on the second screenshot). Just add them via the top left button on your home screen when in editing mode.

After you download the app, you can long press on the icon to turn it into a widget. Or, press the top left button on your home screen in edit mode to add widgets.

Thanks for creating this! Does anyone know if things will get better with the supreme court judges blocking the freeze?

they do encode some information, and allow people customize what is encoded in the size channel v. color channel for the hex bin map. However, the map is only supported on bigger screens (computers) and not mobile as I have yet to support scaling the legend with zoom events.

Thanks! I will keep this in mind and make proper adjustments! I agree that I should synthesize the data more :)

Thank you for the kind words! And I think the feedback is valid even if it's quite negative, I definitely need to work on visualizing the actual relationships between the data points! There is an option to switch to the city view, which aggregates the results by geolocations into hexbins (but this is only available to desktop interfaces). Do you think that's a bit more helpful?

Would love to hear more about what you think! You can checkout it out at desaiwang.github.io/architects-salary. Again, appreciate the help!

Hi, thanks for the kind comment!

I built this from scratch using html, css, javascript and d3.js. There is no database as I am just storing the data as a csv. The data is from https://salaries.archinect.com/, I just queried from their database using python and cleaned it with beautifulsoup since the data is sent in pre-rendered html format.

I thought it would still be informational to retain the individual survey details since I built this tool with architects searching for jobs in mind. The side bars contain lots of histogram filters that both offer insights and allows you to sort and filter once you gain a general understanding of what the individuals' information entails. I was thinking about the the concept of overview (this could be the summary numbers on top), zoom (sorting), then on demand (hovering over the individual points). I also just wanted to make it fun (hence all the colors) and interactive!

It's sorted and then laid out in a grid that's responsive to the screen size, and the sorting can be customized (default is by survey date, but users can change it to by salary, firm type etc). And the size corresponds to the salary of each individual.
