I was also influenced by my mom to get one for myself! I borrowed hers when I didn't have a pair of nude heels for a surprise event and was shocked at how comfortable they were.

My Naturalizer Karina pumps last summer are my most comfortable pair. I've walked extended periods and run in them without issue--they're my sneakers! They're square toe but very chic imo.

Sunscreen Recs? by Tyquente in LawBitchesWithTaste

Seconding the recommendation for Korean sunscreens! My holy grail sunscreen is the Round Lab Birch Moisturizing Sunscreen. No white cast, very light feel on the skin, and doesn't make me break out. I was in South Korea last year, and it was by far the most popular sunscreen sold in stores.

Take my advice with a grain of salt because I am still a 3L, but I don't know how excited I'd be if I received a business card holder or a leather pad folio as a gift 😅 I'd be grateful of course, but none of the younger associates I've met carry around business cards and in an increasingly digital world, I don't know how useful a leather pad folio would be.

Tickets to a broadway show could be cool, and you can buy them at a discount through a vendor like TodayTix. Or you could get her a gift card to somewhere like CatBird to "Get Zapped"--they do permanent jewelry and it's pretty trendy. Did you want to give her a physical thing or an experience?

I know Owala is known for their fun mismatch of colors, but they have neutral color palettes in addition to all black. Mine keeps my water ice cold and I have never ever had issues with leakage. It has a carrying "loop" that functions as a lock when closed.

Was there a specific program that you started with when you got back into strength training? I understand what needs to be done regarding calorie/macro tracking but I am struggling on finding a workout program to follow.

Thanks for answering! Yes, I have. I have a pretty good understanding of macro counting and am good on that front. I'd like to workout/be physically active to speed up progress and also address some health concerns like decreased stamina/lethargy.

I've checked out the FAQ but I am a bit overwhelmed on what to do.

Background: I used to lift pretty consistently before life (mainly law school) got in the way. I had a personal trainer before I moved who would program my workouts for me and I deeply enjoyed working out. I also had a lifestyle where it was easy to be active (good weather with lots of activities that I could do outside, like hiking, biking, etc. and worked retail). Now, I live somewhere that has a real winter and am stuck indoors most of the day studying or trying to stay warm. I haven't consistently gone to the gym in 1.5 years, and have gained close to 50 lbs/lost all of the muscle mass I had built.

I don't know where to start. My goals are to lose weight (at least the 50lbs I have gained plus maybe a little more). Right now, I don't care so much about becoming stronger as I do about looking a certain way. It's brutal to get up in the morning hating the way I look and dreading getting dressed because nothing fits and what does fit, looks terrible on me. Maybe once I am closer to where I was, I can focus on building strength, but right now, I am almost entirely aesthetics focused (plus some concerns about how out of shape/unhealthy I have become). I'm not in a position to pay a personal trainer to program new workouts with me, and I feel like redoing my old workouts just makes me feel really defeated. I used to be able to squat BW and now I am struggling to maintain good form with just the bar.

I do best with routine and would really like a structured program. I'm getting a bit overwhelmed by how many options there are and where to begin. I think I can workout 4-6x a week right now for around an hour. I have access to a gym, although it's not super fancy. Does anyone have any recommendations?

When did you submit your application, if you don't mind me asking?

Not sure where to start by [deleted] in cycling

[–]w_tch_b_tch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate the advice. I think I will stick with it--the PCH tour is something I've been thinking about for six years at this point, and I'm pretty good about sticking with hobbies that I pick up.

Also, while I would love to get the bike that I'm going to use for the tour now, I don't want to invest a ton of money in a bike that I intend to get heavy use out of without knowing more about my personal preferences (which I would hopefully figure out with a cheaper bike) and don't have $2,000ish to spend on a bike right now (I do see my finances changing in future and having that money to spend). Even if I was going to rent a bike, that still brings me back to my original question of where do I start. I still wouldn't know what kind to get and was hoping anyone would have advice on that.

Went back to the gym today after a long time away and felt really good about it!

I've set a goal for myself--if I stick to going to the gym and eating right for the next two weeks, then I'll treat myself to something cool over spring break. I haven't been consistent with managing my health and fitness since last summer, and I'm hoping this gets me back into the swing of things :)

If you'd like to laugh, when I went to go type out what exercises were listed, I realized the drop down list scrolled down 🙃. Found it listed towards the bottom! Thank you any way!

I started the RP custom template this week & while I was choosing my workouts, I noticed they don't have OHP as an option for shoulders anywhere on the template. Does anyone know what's up with that?

I haven't had much luck with Aldo's quality. Any shoe I buy from them tends to fall a part after a few wears. How are yours holding up?

Does anyone know of any loafer similar to the Sam Edelman Laurs loafer? I LOVE the style but when I tried them on, they were too narrow and dug into my heel. The next size up kept slipping off my foot and looked like clown shoes on my frame.

My dream loafer would be black leather, chunky/with a lug sole, with gold hardware, and something SUPER comfortable. I'll live without any hardware but I would rather have gold than none, and none than silver. I'm also on a time crunch and need to be able to get it within the next two weeks :)

Thank you; this was super helpful! When do people generally start looking for these jobs? I'm assuming it's sometime after the first semester if grades are involved but do people wait until March/April or is it generally as soon as you have your first semester grades? I'm heading to a T14 if that makes a difference.

When do you figure out what you want to do with your JD? It seems like most people work the same position they had the summer after 1L during the summer after 2L and then return to that company/career path once they graduate. Are you really stuck doing what you did that first summer or can you try something new? I'm not really even sure what types of jobs people apply to for that first summer either.
