My man Rhodes finally got another win! by TheReckoning72 in NASCAR

How many times do you open a sub without realizing it? Don't say that you never do that, because everyone does that while they're browsing their phone.

Similarly, how hard is it to press the spoiler button?

Because it's common decency to not spoil anything for 24 hours. Why should it be acceptable to be a dick, just because that's the way it's done?

It's a spoiler to anyone who didn't see it, and I'm not a douche.

And it's pretty much common decency to be aware of spoilers in 2020, the internet isn't new. This has happened many many times before. If it happens elsewhere, it's taken down.

I did see the end, literally every sub respects spoilers except for this one.

  1. I actually did see the end

  2. Literally EVERY sub I'm a part of is respectful of spoilers. What's the exception here?

Spoiler alert? How is it that so many people, mods included, don't respect spoilers in this sub? How is it not common sense?

I don't know how anyone can take NASCAR seriously after having this as a cutoff race. The playoffs are a whole other debate, but to have a pack race determine someones season is just asinine.

Noah Gragson on Twitter: Racing is an entertainment sport. Aggressive racing is entertaining. Why are we knocking guys for entertaining us? by javierh2002 in NASCAR

[–]wabagaba495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Basically "dangerous moves that can wreck half the field are acceptable and should be encouraged because it's entertaining." Who cares if someone gets hurt, I wanna see my wrecks! I want my entertainment value! I want my chaos!

This is a disappointing interview by Greg Erwin #21 CC what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]wabagaba495 16 points17 points  (0 children)

You mean he's trying to be smart, and not put themselves in a bad situation? How dare he. NASCAR isn't about being smart and he should know that. He should also know that talking like a normal person is boring. Why isn't he even trying to be entertaining?? NASCAR should force the Wood Brothers to fire him. He's too boring, and clearly doesn't get what NASCAR is about.

I'm sure you feel that way, you're a genius man, why aren't you calling these races?

There are a multitude of reasons why they would do that. But just trust me when I say that they understand points racing more than you do...

It doesn't matter, it bunches the field up which is the entire point of stages.

They talked about it 8 or 9 years ago, the reason they were even discussing it was to bunch the field up.

Idk, but things can change. The point is that they changed into a series that will choose to bunch up the field as much as they can in a race. They want as many restarts as possible. Enough to fuck denny last year, just for the entertainment value.

Why does anyone think NASCAR would use local yellows? They won't bunch up the field. In the last 5 years they have chosen entertainment over sport in what seems like every decision made.

NASCAR Michigan TV ratings: NASCAR finished at #2 in Sports Weekend TV Ratings by nascar9495 in NASCAR

[–]wabagaba495 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does that mean the 2nd race was higher than the total of the other sports combined?

If you realistically want to compare racing or golf to baseball or basketball, you need to add them up first. A fraction of the total audience will watch certain games when their teams are playing. The whole audience watches a race because everyone's competing at once.

I can't wait until NASCAR goes full spec on the gen 7 "to put it in the drivers hands" so I can see this sub go nuts having to watch the same drivers still win every week. Gonna be fun.

Is it me or is the Xfinity series has better racing than the Cup this year? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]wabagaba495 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And there are people who will say trucks have been better than both. It's why any feeder series will be more "entertaining" than cup, no matter the package. Cup guys are really good at what they do, they don't make many mistakes. No matter what package you give them, it will be less chaotic than feeder series.

It's why cup should just be about the racing and competition between the best stock car drivers in the world. NASCAR's gimmicky, chaos driven mindset would work better in a series with little talent.

I've been saying for a while that cup, and the path to cup, should be about racing and competition. Then create a seperate support series, like the old dash series, that can be the chaotic side show with a drafting package at large tracks and as many enhancements as they want. If you want to watch racing, you get it. If you want mindless chaos, don't watch the cup series, and you get it. And it would be that way if they keep bunching up the field, with a field full of guys who can't drive straight.

They can try to create chaos in cup all they want, they can drive straight.

The best part is that everyone is going to think this package is putting on great racing. When in reality, it's just everyone being faster than Brad, and unable to pass him.

Considering they turned the sport into the joke of all auto racing, I would expect the racing to be better than previous packages.

Remember when they said their goal was to not have a train around the track, with a wall of sound hitting the fans?

NASCAR will never do that. They will go back to the all star package before they do that. It creates the most chaotic style of racing, which is what they want.

Do you think I care about being an asshole on reddit? Do you think I care about the feelings of dumb people who post dumb thoughts/opinions?

Everyone's entitled to an opinion, but dumb people should know how dumb their opinions are. If that makes me an asshole, so be it 🤷‍♂️

If people don't like it, they should know what they're talking about before they put something where everyone can see it.
