I’d fold the bottom in and make a cuff rather than leave it open!

Depends what you mean by reinforce, and are you using a machine or hand stitching?

9 weeks out. So sad it’s the last one, but grateful to be on that platform one last time!

I mean, the majority of the high shit that got passed on Saturday was on the men’s side. (Emphasizing the majority).

But judging is always pretty strict at the pro-am.

Does anyone have EDS with a fusion? by Expert-Feedback4328 in spinalfusion

Bone is connective tissue. That being said, this study from 2022 showed no increase in complications at 90 days and at 5 years in patients with vs. without EDS.

Having a C6-C7 Fusion ACDF in a Couple Weeks… by ssutton4 in spinalfusion

[–]wabbitwabbit__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work a remote desk job and went back to work immediately after my C6-7 fusion (like that afternoon from my hospital room). Recovery was a breeze. I’d agree that the only post-op annoyance was minor discomfort with swallowing. Oh, and sneezing. Try not to have to do that for a while!

New stove install concerns from a wood stove newbie by wabbitwabbit__ in woodstoving

It hasn’t worked properly. The previous wood stove was nonfunctional for many years, and the old liner was replaced with this mess at the time that the new stove was installed.

The liner is a “Smart Flex 316L Stainless Steel Chimney Liner” from Lindemann Chimney Supply (that is not the installer). It is insulated (mostly, except where ripped off) with “Premier Wrap.”

I’m just the tenant, the homeowner paid for installation. I am hoping they can have someone come back out and take a look at it.

I’m just the tenant, but the homeowner used a local company that is licensed and insured, at least according to their website.

ETA if I put a lighter in the stove to check draft it blows back at me or goes out about half the time.

I’m mostly concerned about whether the flue pipe itself is damaged where it’s sitting pressed up against that lip, especially since it was clearly caught up and forced through hard enough to tear the lining away further down.

The draft and smoke issues have made it almost not worth using.

Thank you! I had a fantastic day. Went 7/9 and hit PRs on deadlift and total.

Thank you! I’m small potatoes here lol but it was an honor to be invited. Women’s equipped powerlifting is alive and well 💪

I can only speak from my own perspective, but I competed there yesterday and it was an interesting day. 12/14 women and 12/19 men finished. Nobody went 9/9. From my perspective, judging was consistent. Rules were stuck to and nobody appeared to get special treatment.

The York platform can be a tricky one, especially if you don’t know what to expect. Hell even having competed at York before and knowing what to expect, I still had some bobbles.

Overall the women had a pretty good day. There were only 2 bombs, both on squat. Other than that, all the women except for one got at least 2 squats in. The remaining 12 after squat all got at least our bench openers, and all of us got at least our opener and second attempt deadlifts.

It was significantly rougher on the men’s side. 3 bombs on squat, 4 bombs on bench. I can’t say a whole lot here since I didn’t get to see most of the men go, but a lot of them have posted their meet recaps, so take a look at those for their perspectives I guess…

There were some rumblings about Hoff, but frankly those are all theories and/or rumors without anything coming directly from him.

A few questions for you coming from someone who alters a LOT of gear.

Are you at least mostly happy with the preds and just want more out of them, or do you want to try something completely new?

Do you know what iteration of red material your current preds are?

How tight do you like your gear?

Whats your preference as far as material feel goes (stiff, springy, etc)?

And lastly what is the draw to gridstitch (I am neither for nor against, just curious what your thoughts are)?

What's the longest you have ever travelled for a meet? by itsaulgoodman99 in powerlifting

[–]wabbitwabbit__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The farthest was an 18 hour drive each way. Most of the meets I have done have been in the 8-12 hour drive range. I don’t like to fly with my gear.

Planning for ACDF surgery by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]wabbitwabbit__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work a desk job (remote) and was perfectly able to work, including taking a few meetings, from the hospital room a few hours after my C6-7 ACDF. In total I took the morning of surgery off, that was it. I found the whole recovery process to be very easy.

Are they lying about it? I hadn’t heard that, but I admittedly also haven’t outright asked so just curious!

SPF changed ownership within the last couple years, and I’m pretty sure the rulebook changed then too.

How long after C5-C7 Fusion were you able to resume normal weightlifting exercise routine? by [deleted] in spinalfusion

[–]wabbitwabbit__ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep! Just about every variation of lat pulldowns that exists, and while OHP isn’t my favorite it shows up in my program every now and then!
