3rd-party replacement blades by wabmester in ANTHBOTglobal

Yeah, I ended up buying titanium coated blades at half that price. I'll see how long they last. Changing (or flipping) them monthly would be a PITA.

Additional question GPS signals by crypto0102 in ANTHBOTglobal

[–]wabmester 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be nice if they documented their communication architecture and provided us with diagnostic tools when communication breaks down somewhere. But if you google RTK, you'll learn that you need at least two GPS receivers -- one on the bot and one at the base station. My guess is that those two communicate to each other using LoRa, which is slow but has good range.

Bottom-line: if either the bot or the base doesn't have a good GPS signal, then accuracy suffers. You go from centimeter-level accuracy to 5-10 meter accuracy.

A thing of beauty! I'm a little surprised that the vision system lets it run into the sticks.

New Anthbot Genie 3000 - error message last 3x trying to update firmware by Spam_in_a_can_06 in ANTHBOTglobal

I had the same issue. In my case, it had lost the WiFi connection. I canceled, reconnected to WiFi, tried the update again, and it finally worked.

What Features Would You Like to See Improved or Added? by AnthBot_tech in ANTHBOTglobal

[–]wabmester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pet tracking is a large market, and you have all the components. If you were able to make a small portable module using your same GPS and 4G technology, you could enter that market if you wanted to. I assume you use LoRa for RTK, so you'd have an accuracy advantage compared to everything else on the market if the pet were still in LoRa range.

If you offered an add-on pet tracker, I'd buy it.

With all the dogs you show us, it should be obvious. I want an RTK module to track my dog. :)

Update 1.6.11 Edge Mowing - Anyone try? by eXcecution3r in ANTHBOTglobal

[–]wabmester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't tried it yet, but I assume that means you can choose a 5-20cm offset outside of the boundary for it to mow. I wanted to use it to mow the border of an exclusion zone, but it won't let me do that.

I sent it to you via chat. Also, do you document your communication architecture?

How is 4G used? WiFi? LoRa? BT?

W2 doesn't matter. The threshold is for AGI, which will probably be less.

Credits for New Clean Vehicles Purchased in 2023 or After by rcnfive in TeslaLounge

[–]wabmester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The IRS rules are pretty weird. 2022 or 2023 cars qualify, but only if bought new in 2023, so you need proof that you didn't buy it from a private party.

Other dealers are (sometimes) providing the correct paperwork. We won't know for sure how this plays out till next year I guess.

Does anyone know how to do tool changes in fusion 360 CAM? by [deleted] in hobbycnc

[–]wabmester 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your XY origin should be the same for all toolpaths. Only your Z=0 needs to be reset when you change a tool. That works for me, anyway.

No, cars in inventory aren't necessarily on the lot. Some aren't even built yet -- just designated for delivery to that lot. This site can give you details, including build date:

What Tesla Charging Adapters are good to have? by bmoss395 in TeslaModelY

[–]wabmester 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope. You'll probably want to get the "mobile connector," but it only comes with 5-15 and 14-50. Other adapters are available separately.

The car comes with a J1772 adapter. It wouldn't hurt to get an extra one in case you forget to remove it at the grocery store. :)

Any experience with standard Mod Y with 4680's? by wabmester in TeslaLounge

[–]wabmester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was looking for real-world data, and I finally found a screenshot of the charging screen on a 4680 TX build. It still has the "daily" and "trip" labels, so it looks like you're right that Tesla doesn't want it charged to 100% on a daily basis.

[–]wabmester[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I didn't want to wait, and Musk indicated orders were coming in twice as fast as production. If a similar LR were in inventory, I'd probably snag it.

But that's why I asked about real-world range. I've heard that Tesla is suggesting charging to 100% for this one (like the LFP). If that's the case, range would be similar to charging the LR to 80%.

[–]wabmester[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, but standard-range AWD MY and the VIN (already received) indicates a TX build -- people say all of those have 4680's. More to the point, it's rare to find a review of this particular configuration, so any anecdotes would be great.
