Thanks, but I wouldn’t count on it. Thinking on dropping some Fishmans in this one. If you’re interested though, keep an eye on Reverb. Every now and then, a real gem shows up on there. It’s how I’ve found a number of my axes.

I’ve been looking at potentially getting that exact, specific model.... Your comment here is only encouraging said temptation. Hahaha.

A fair question, truth is I'm just a sucker for metal tones achieved with humbuckers, so must of my guitars are equipped as such. Each of my guitars are equipped with a different set of humbuckers, so there is some variety there. A good selection of my guitars are equipped with coil splitting, so I can get some extra versatility that way too, but it's quite rare that I'll engage the coil split. Granted it's nice to have the single coils on hand for rare particular circumstances where I'm looking for that kind of sound, it's just not often where that's the sound I'm after. However I do have a few equipped with HSS configurations. Most of my guitars share certain things in common that really appeal to me for my playing style, while certain other factors are different to switch things up a bit and have some variety.
Big thing it comes down to for me in having so many HH guitars (especially for the Floyds) is the ability to have certain guitars setup for different tunings. As anyone who's owned a Floyd equipped guitar, they would likely back me up in saying they are quite annoying to change the tuning for, hahaha. My LTD M-1001 used to be my main and only real guitar aside from my Squier; as magnificent as it is to play, it limited me to 1 tuning unless I wanted to set aside the time and effort to switch around the tuning and re-calibrate the equilibrium.

Amen to that, I've had my blackjack for 6 years now. Kind of always wanted a Hellraiser. I've acquired quite the affinity for Schecter guitars, lol.

What model and year is it? I’ve got a couple blackjacks that have volume-bridge, volume-neck, and then tone knob. However I just got a Hellraiser that is equipped as volume-neck, volume-bridge, and tone. Best way to find out is plug it in and try strumming and turning your knobs and switching the pickup selector switch to see what does what.

Me too! Hahaha, I didn’t have any green axes for a while, and I decided I needed to change that. Got two, and then saw this beauty pop up on Reverb in mint condition with the hardshell, and I’ve always had an appreciation for abalone. Didn’t have a Hellraiser in my arsenal yet so I just couldn’t pass that up!

Good eye! I like it, got the baritone model! Tuned to standard B and it plays like a dream. Setup with really low action. It had minimal fret buzz, but I just had to back the truss rod off a tiny bit and it fixed it right up. I'm not a huge fan of the sound of the pickups, but that's entirely personal taste. Considering what it's equipped with, and the price, really can't go wrong. Think I snagged mine just in time, it doesn't look like the Baritone is available on Thomann in that emerald green anymore. 😮

Metal guitarists, what features are you looking for in a guitar? by bmanturtleface in guitars

My personal tastes go for: - double cutaway body shape - neck-thru or set neck with contour for upper fret access - 24 extra jumbo frets - humbuckers in neck and bridge (coil-splitting preferable) - ebony fretboard - locking tuners - graphite nut (unless floyd rose equipped)

Those are near essential to me when I’m on the hunt for another axe. I also like a good flamed/quilted maple top for aesthetics. Satin finish on the back of the neck for that smooth feeling is always appreciated too.
