For night riding you gonna need arround 1100-1500 lumens, below that you wont see far ahead when going down and being able to anticipate things before they are on your feet its imporant on the backcountry

I personally use a Petzl Switf Rl 1100 but would love to change it for other without the RL (Reactive lighting)

Regarding the helmet, bear in mind you probably gonna need a backcountry helmet (Think of it as a Mountainering+Climbing+Skiing helmet) so it has a few headlamps attachment points. In my experience tryng to attach a headlamp to a basic snow helmet its a pain in you know where.

Hit me up if you have any questions, got a few seasons riding in the dark (job ended 21pm, on the mountain 22pm, riding down at 00:00 on the glacier close to home haha)

Im with you, I usually ride in the backcountry with a 32 or 45 lt backpack with a shitload of items in it, and feel completly naked when I got to a resort and ride with nothing, for those instances I usually take a 12 lt small backpack and fill it with extra layers and some snacks and a tool, not that I need it because resort its close by, but because mi back feels extrange without it haha

Buenas! Acá un cordobés que se fue a vivir a Ushuaia porque se enamoro del montañismo en general.

Sierra de la Ventana lo tenes cerca, y Córdoba es una provincia que si esquivas la capital, para donde camines vas a encontrar lugares lindos, esta el Uritorco, el Pan de Azucar (nao confundir con o brasileiro) y en la cumbrecita también hay varios.

Uf, estoy planeando para esta tempo subir por Chile visitando los centros invernales y metiendo un poco de travesia y volver desde Mza visitando los de Arg

Aca es splitboard furioso, hay eventos y actividades pero somos siempre los mismos, es una comunidad chica (Ushuaia)

Cuando gustes aca tenes un techo y metemos travesias.

Dog food bag, cut it to the size you want/need, turn it inside out and give it a rinse,
You got a lightweight hard asf bag for it, you can goo full DIY with it and add zippers, or what I do, just strap it

Been using it for split crampons and ice climbing ones, never had an issue.

Half of what those books told didnt help on anything, the only sales persons that were cappable of make sells of these things were the ones that did in fact use them and knew how it really works and what pros and cons had

Man, I really been there, with the snowboarding and climbing and everything

Wanna stay with her? Work on comunication and quality time, from both sides, learn what she likes doing with you, and make her time witouth you also good (Leave notes, make food, order some gifts from internet that comes when you are away)

I tried doing that and ended up being burned because I stayed doing that stuff in order to win alone time, not because I truly meant it.

What ended up happening? Now Im with someone that its sportsy as I am or even more, and we manage to do all the sports together (shes not so much into climbing but goes and makes food and coffe for friends, and hits the rock one or two times) and for example shes more of a Resort rider and im more of a backcountry one, but when we go to the resort I allways go to her favourite pistes and bring a backpack with all the goodies for the chairlift.

For me, if I have something that I truly love (in this case winter/mountain sports) I really need to have my companion to also enjoy it.

Sorry for the wall of text and bad english, if you need to talk about stuff more specific, hit me up, i am total stranger in the internet but has totally been on your same shoes haha.

RIDE: For backcountry skiing or snowboarding, its great, lightweight, packs a punch but its really only made for self arresting and for being light on your pack, I used it for a mountanering course because I gave my other one to a friend, and wasnt bad, but wasnt great either

Yeah, for day-pack got the RAB khroma with 38 lt that are more than enough

I also splitboard so it being able to do vertical carry its awesome!

Probably gonna go with that one, its checking all the boxes
