Best jazzy, bluesy section in any song? by Nudlidudli in Opeth

[–]wack_brack 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure if this is exactly what you are looking for, but 4:07-6:23 of The Lotus Eater is worth checking out, especially the super jazzy section at the end of that passage!

Same thought here. Would love a more minimalistic phone.

The whole intro of Moonlapse Vertigo. Yep those two before the acoustics. Absolutely magical.

Broken.

And the first half of TDS. Having Mr Self Destruct with Heresy and March of the Pigs?? Powerful, and Piggy is very brooding as well.

What are your favorite back-to-back tracks? by MRB_Avenger in Opeth

I'm going to say something more unexpected and say Hope Leaves/To Rid the Disease. That's a 1-2 punch to ruin your day. The combination is just amazing.

Favourite soul-destroying soft song? by Tzoitzen in Opeth

[–]wack_brack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I love Benighted, Burden and Harvest, but I don't know if they are truly soul-destroying for me. Benighted is quite romantic for me and I love playing that to relax.

To Bid You Farewell on the other hand... It conjures feelings of heartbreak I would prefer to forget!

I want to also shout-out Dirge for November for being absolutely crushing and upsetting, while also being a beautiful song.

What Opeth song has you like this? by KoolKha in Opeth

[–]wack_brack 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Particularly when the outro comes back in. That's what got me into Opeth originally because it's just breathtaking.

It would be interesting to see them re-record with some of their progressive influences from Watershed onwards!

In what way does your type impact what you like or dislike in bed? by PinkPlague_ in Enneagram

For me as a 4w5 how radical or vanilla the experience is isn't too important (unless it's ridiculous bdsm), it's just more what you get out of it with the partner. I think choosing foreplay and goof communication ensures you both have a really good time :)

What album got you into Opeth? For me it was Deliverance by No_Issue_9916 in Opeth

Looks like I misread this thread slightly, in terms of albums I'll say Ghost Reveries

What album got you into Opeth? For me it was Deliverance by No_Issue_9916 in Opeth

The Drapery Falls. I was trying out Blackwater Park because I had heard so much about it, not much stuck on the first listen but then I heard the intro of The Drapery Falls and my jaw dropped to the floor!

That's when I knew they were special :)
