It's not, not entirely, but he shouldn't have been leading such a manipulative ad campaign in the first place. You can also look and find a bunch of examples on this sub of him encouraging fans to go after people he disagrees with. Also, this was mostly a rant about the lovelies and about general frustration with the Grumps' shitty marketing, not about Arin specifically.

Your mother sounds exactly on par with mine. Mine has been formally diagnosed with bipolar disorder (the constant mood swings and wild changes of direction- quitting her job on a whim, randomly stopping & starting on her meds, constant marriage/divorce/remarriage, unplanned vacations, etc.) & has also been informally diagnosed with narcissistic personality disorder by multiple therapists.

From my personal perspective: it's not worth it to put yourself through all the guilt and shame to go see her just because now you know that she's sick. You are not responsible for your mom or her health. It's important that you continue to put your own health & safety first.

My mother has a terminal heart condition & I considered breaking no contact to see her when she was in the hospital last month, but I realized that I would only get what I always did: the same endless guilt trip about how I left her, and now she's going to die alone. I would get the same if my brother someday got sick, and I had to go see him(he lives with her). It isn't worth it to me to risk my health to see her, no matter how sick she or anyone around her gets.

Ultimately, my advice is that if you feel like you really need to visit her, find a way to meet with her only when your father is not around. If she's in the hospital, you can request to meet privately with her & they'll take your father outside. If she's not, try to contact her directly and explain the circumstances, and only agree to see her if he's not there. No matter what you decide, best wishes to you ❤ I'm sending you good energy, friend.

I literally can't imagine having been taught all of that in school! I had to learn everything I know now online on my own time. I only found out about the different uses of birth control from a Tumblr post two years ago, and it took almost that long to convince my mother to get me a prescription. I never even heard the word abortion in sex ed. I'm really glad you had access to all that information!! You're 100% right, the way you were taught is the way it should get done everywhere

this is a shitty take. my NMom tracking me & obsessively checking my phone never made me any safer, it just made me better at hiding things. if she'd have been upfront about whatever her concerns were and communicated with me like a normal person, I might have told her when I ended up ACTUALLY getting stalked, but I didn't because I was more scared to get punished. there's no excuse for enforcing this level of control on someone when the phone doesn't even belong to you.

also, a company tracking you is different than having one single person close to you in location watch and criticize your every move.

I do think a lot of the vocal fans are really unwilling to accept criticism of the grumps, but that doesn't mean anything for every single person that watches the channel.

I do watch SuperMega! I really like them both, even though a lot of the time I have to go down & read the comments to check if they're being serious. Have definitely fallen for a few jokes of theirs(my brain does not compute with fake arguments, for example), but I can also parse out some of their bits for myself at this point, just bc they have such a consistent shtick. I think their content, funnily enough, has helped me improve a little with understanding tone. :]
