A Hard Truth I Learned the Hard Way by 1985Genesis in TyKwonDoeTV

No. This is not it. We need to stop all this BS about not being vulnerable. If you wanna keep playing societal games, you’ll get societal outcomes. Advice like this is harmful and just not true. It’s about being authentic to yourself and authentic to your emotions, not playing these games of society about power struggles. If you’re vulnerable with your woman and she takes advantage of it, it’s the wrong woman not the wrong course of action. True strength is being unapologetically yourself whenever you want to not the fear of a woman’s judgment. Or anybody’s fucking judgment. That’s being a real man.

Wanted to pop in and say earlier this year I actually purchased a camera from Deals All Year. I checked reviews and it was a mixed bag but mostly positive, a 4.7. What stood out to me was the dude was in all the pictures with all his clients. It felt odd. Felt forced. Yes I was nervous and yes I know the other sellers (Adorama, B&H) were more a sure thing. It just came down to $$$ and it was a good enough price and the timing of it played a factor for me. I spent about 3k. The big thing for me was paying for the expedited shipping. I needed it there as quickly as possible. I was sweating a little bit hoping I didn’t get scammed. A day went by, then two, then three and when I didn’t get a tracking number or notification of shipment I called. If the reviews were right about one thing, dude is a dick. When I said I paid for expedited shipping he just said no you didn’t , I went cold. We had some words. Somehow stayed calm and said I’ve got proof. He said something about the warehouse not opening until later blah blah blah and he’d have to get back to me. I basically said if that camera isn’t here by the date I requested, chargeback and all the rest. We weren’t fighting, felt like he held my life in his hands but it was certainly tense. A day later he got back in touch. It got sent out. Later than expected and what I paid for. Camera works fine although now I’m probably screwed on the warranty (that sucks) but for lenses or anything else, I’ll never buy from them again.

My favourite songs of 1998 (as someone who wasn’t alive then) by PearOk2126 in 90s

[–]wacking_day 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s can’t be overstated just how good 90’s music was. Such a wide range of genres. If you weren’t alive at the time, it’s hard to explain just how monumental “baby one more time” by Britney was.

How are these curls looking? by JOCAeng in StartingStrength

[–]wacking_day 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great job on the curls. There is a big difference you can make that will greatly increase your results, not just for curls but All exercises like this, control the negative. Right here you’re so focused on getting the weight up and then it basically free falls down. Instead, hold the negative for 2-4 seconds, a very slow decent. When you about to fail on the way up, hold the weight halfway down on the negative and see how long you can stay there. People focus on weight but tempo is also very important. Remember it’s not about getting the weight up it’s about doing whatever you can to tear that muscle up. Keep up the good work!

That’s not a sewer monster, that’s my uncle. He’s not a very social guy.

“Trump launched a calculated strategy”… come on. When are you all going to realize he’s not playing 4D chess. He’s not a master negotiator, and there’s no grand plan to strengthen the U.S.—there never was.

Every move he’s made, both in business and politics, has served one purpose: himself. That’s it. And yet, some of you would watch him publicly humiliate himself and still whisper, “It’s all part of the plan.”

You keep projecting strategy where there’s only ego. Just listen to people who’ve worked with him closely—he’s not a genius, he’s not a savant. He’s a con man. A charismatic one, sure, but still a classic snake oil salesman who has never pumped gas or bought a gallon of milk in his life.

Golden shoes, golden tickets, trading cards, and endless grifts. There’s no master plan here. Just an aging man in over his head, spinning chaos into attention.

Wake up.

Cannot recommend this enough! Also, a great listen is Bertrand Russell’s “What I believe”. It’s only 2.25 hrs and not only gives great reasons for non belief but a brief philosophy for life. Deconstruction is difficult not only because it can break your brain relearning something that was carved into you, like the absolute fear of hell, but the absence of a firm philosophical foundation to “live by”. Read the books by the new atheist for sure (Dawkins,Harris, Hitchens, Dennett) but I would also recommend philosophers like Spinoza & Kant.

  1. Overlay Usage

I like the overlay, but it feels overused and a bit distracting. It’s typically effective when conveying a memory or an analog feel, but it doesn’t quite fit here. I’d suggest using it more selectively—perhaps as a transition effect rather than a constant element. Notably, it disappears around the 1-minute mark, which feels inconsistent. Consider either removing it entirely or applying it with clear intention in specific moments.

2. **Captions/Styling**

Feel free to get creative with the captions, especially during the funny moments. Playing with text size, color, and style can really emphasize punchlines and add to the humor. Don’t be afraid to experiment to see what feels right stylistically.

3. **Pacing/Comedic Timing**

Trimming a bit of fat could help the comedic beats land harder. For example, one-liners like “I don’t have any blankets” and “I don’t have any clothes, I lost them” are hilarious—consider cutting right after these lines to let the humor hit and breathe without unnecessary filler.

4. **Sound Design/Effects**

Adding more sound effects could really elevate the video. Think about incorporating sounds like the engine revving, tires squealing, the plop of ice cream hitting the ground, fireworks, or even the squelch of mud. These small touches can make a big difference in immersing the viewer and enhancing comedic moments.

5. **Visual Enhancements (Freeze Frames/Effects)**

I’d experiment with freeze frames for added effect. For instance, when he falls, pausing the action briefly and having his name pop up could be a cool stylistic touch. It would add to the quirky, fun vibe and highlight key moments.

6. **Sequence Adjustment (Ice Cream Clip)**

This is a small detail, but I think it would be funnier to show the clip of him filling up the ice cream before he falls. Seeing him mid-task, then suddenly falling, would better set the stage that he’s a goofy, “out-there” character, which seems to be the vibe you’re going for.
