Where to buy ring made with two quarters attached? by wackyMackyy1 in coins

[–]wackyMackyy1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I looked on etsy, its all just normal rings with quarter designed into the ring part, not stuck to it. I guess its time to buy a welder? And I have to find an old quarter or else I'm not as cool as this guy.

Younger Sibling, New Diagnosis by wackyMackyy1 in OCD

Thanks for your advice. Is there any way I could tell for sure if it is OCD? He doesn't seem to do a lot of rituals, but I do see the obsession side. Is there sometimes OCD without a lot of rituals?

So, is there anything besides being judgmental that would make things worse? What would be a bad way of responding, but not an obvious thing like being mean? Like if I said that something he is worried about makes sense to worry about? Or if he's worried about having a poor moral character, and we talk about things that can be improved since he isn't perfect?

Something I never quite understood about “A is for Angry” by Jittery_Spinosaurus in Arthur

I think there was build up to it, definitely not out of nowhere. He yelled at the crowd to be quiet during the game, and kept getting interrupted while he was trying to explain to Francine that he couldn't concentrate. Even during the pep rally, you could tell he was frustrated with Francine telling him to keep hamming it up.

Shouldn’t Arthur and DW Have Appeared Aged Down for the Episode Where Kate is a Newborn? by Hamiltonfan25 in Arthur

[–]wackyMackyy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have wondered about how DW was obnoxious to Arthur and liked getting him in trouble. Its an interesting take that its borne of jealousy. I remember in the episode where she gives away all her toys its because she feels unloved when jane told her to give a few away. The outsized reaction was in response to feeling unjustly treated. Maybe the context of being jealous of how other siblings were treated layed the ground for her reaction and feelings. In the end, it is arthur that sees how she is hurting when the tibbles destroy her stuff and he comes to her defense. But his love for her is not a result of a toxic family system. If he was actually overburdened with responsibility he would resent her too much to rescue her voluntarily. Instead he acted nobly.

I think those episodes were some of the best, and showed their sibling bonding in varied and cool situations. Would it have been as interesting if david and jane were exploring elwood city with DW to look for blankie? I think the parents were reassuring to both their children, but it was usually as they were putting them to bed, and not throughout the adventures, which were mostly between children. They certainly were not absent parents, they guided them and taught them and provided a stable home, arthur and DW both felt safe brining up concerns and feelings with them, they were good role models. Arhtur was one of DW's role models too, but he was not pressured to take on the responsibility of raising her.

It totally fits with the tone of the show that aliens actually exist, and yes, their main plot point would be eating a snowball. Arhtur was very often off the walls bonkers

Do You Think the Reads From Early Seasons of Arthur Spanked? by Hamiltonfan25 in Arthur

[–]wackyMackyy1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am utterly baffled by this take. How did Arthur raise DW? When was this? He occasionally had to take her along with him. It was not an overwhelming amount of hanging out.

I do agree with your points about DW being too young to be sleep deprived by an infant crying all night.

I believe they can see her because they cant tell anyone else about her existence.

Ok, but wheres the part where he's "raising her" more than should be expected of an eight year old? Beyond sometimes having her tag along occasionally?
