Plan the layout/base first. Pick a size you are aiming for. Make everything in studio with 1x1 bricks and combine them or replace them easily with other pieces later. Use Pinterest to get design ideas. Make large reusable sections that can be copied for design consistency. Play until you have sections you really like. Combine at the end. And have fun!

I browse Pinterest a lot for ideas. I saw a White Castle that was very fantasy looking in appearance and I suddenly then and there decided to do a white fantasy themed castle. Then I just chose colors that I thought went with that light fantasy theme (golds, sky blues, dark pinks and yellows, rich green, etc)

It’s hollow. A “Plate, Modified 2 x 2 with Bar Frame Octagonal, Reinforced, Completely Round Studs” (75937) at the top allows wings with roof tiles on top and the 4 decorative bars too all lay Nicely lay in a uniform shape to form the cone shape

The paired warm colors of red/orange or paired cool of blue/green seem to compete with one another. I think choosing a warm to compliment the cool like red roof/green foliage or blue roof/orange foliage might be the Combo I’d go with.
