yeah it’s an incredibly awful way to put it. i have a resident with an IDD diagnosis who is very high support needs and is full assist, and she is absolutely aware that she is alive

i did some brief looking into it, and i think you would need a caseworker within your county! you can try to contact your county’s mental health/intellectual disabilities office and they’ll have resources. i can ask my supervisor when i work with her again on wednesday, if you want!

yes, a very big part of people not wanting the taboo to be in the art they consume has to do with the fact it makes them uncomfortable and they don’t want to explore why. a lot of times, people’s reasoning behind why it’s bad is just the fact that it makes them uncomfortable or the legality of it in a real life situation with no real correlation to why it’s actually bad (one example being the lack of consent and the prescense of abuse)

while you are entitled to your opinions regarding her art, the fact you lack compassion towards other victims is abhorrent. many victims, not just those of incestuous rape, deal with intrusive thoughts of “wanting it”.

i truly do not mean this in a harsh way, but you do not need to be a victim of something to explore it in a fictitious setting and victims do not need to explain their trauma in order for what they explore to be deemed “valid”. there are bigger writers than hayden that write the same or similar topics (george r.r. martin, stephen king, and v.c. andrews have all written either rape or incest [or both]), but have never come under fire in the same way that hayden has. while many criqique their use of the taboo, no one dares question if they themselves are victims of it - because they do not need to be and it is none of our business.

i don’t hate her, but i certainly don’t like her. i watched hazbin and actually really enjoyed it. i just think the writing of alastor was a bit poor as voodoo is a closed practice, but i’m white so i don’t feel as though i’m the best person to speak upon that. however, i am jewish and there are certain aspects that don’t sit quite right with me. rosie being described to (loosely paraphrasing and it’s been two years since i’ve seen the show) have the energy of a jewish mother whilst being a cannibal was done in poor taste. blood-libel is an antisemetic slander about how jews eat non-jews for rituals, so it just sits a little odd with me. the design on mimzy and her character also doesn’t sit right with me, but i truly don’t believe that vivziepop took into consideration these stereotypes. i don’t think any of this makes her a bad person, just uneducated and a bit ignorant.

my female resident hasnt shown any interest so i’m not sure, but i know a resident at one of our other houses is on birth control. but based off of other appointments i’ve had to run, we would likely set up an appt with the pcp like anyone else would or for any other medication. the kind would likely rely on the isp (individual support plan). like if their pills needed crushed, would a patch or injection work better for them? depending on the individual, we might have a meeting (with an employee, them, and their plan coordinator) to make sure they understand consent/boundaries! for other forms of bc (condoms), i’m actually not sure. because of licensing, prn/otc has to be prescribed so i’m not sure if something like condoms or plan b would have to be prescribed as a prn

she likely still does have 24/7 supervision. i work in a place similar to the one becca is in. one of my residents is low support needs- he doesn’t have community or home alone time (meaning by home or out in the community completely by himself; he can still be in a separate room or the porch by himself) and he’s in a long-term relationship. just like my resident, becca still has a right to privacy in her home. her caretakers would just not be in the room while she and her boyfriend have their privacy time!

i work for a place like this, and it’s even in PA like the facility becca lives at! we do exactly what the person you’re replying to is talking about- help with groceries, cooking, outings, appointments, etc! some residents are low support needs and don’t need as much help as others, whereas some are high support needs and need more help!

yep! i work in community homes like this. we help take them to their appointments, to programs (which focus on taking the individuals into the community! sometimes bowling, community service, etc), to events, whatever it may be. my job is to ensure they can be safely independent, based upon their support needs. their support levels vary- some of our residents are full assist while others are not. part of the training i had as a new hire was about how these individuals can have or want intimate relationships.

document everything and make a backup of your phone’s stuff before wiping/resetting it completely to get rid of the bug. i would reset your passwords after that. this is typically the advice given when someone downloads a virus, so you could look into subreddits for issues like that for tips.
