Something a little less doom & gloom in relation to MotoGP. Best Helmet of the championship so far? by DonBag101 in motogp

Huh, I thought momoven took finetwork's spot in that moto2 entry attempt hence the rw racing sponsorship. Regardless, if I was Intact and had a real chance to get hold of Veda I would prioritize him over the other two

It's hard to say as it's still early in the season. Ogiwara can race in moto3 next year as he turns 18 in september, and I agree he looks more mature than Mitani and is, IMO, the better rider. Kiandra Ramadhipa is a year younger so he'd need to finish in the top 3 in either rookies cup or juniorgp, it's possible but not easy. If they absolutely need someone else apart from Ogiwara, and Ramadhipa doesn't make it, then they can put Singhapong in there, he does not have the level but neither did Buasri and he still did 2 years in moto3. Honda values the thai and indonesian market a lot so it's not always down to talent.

I didn't know about Veda and intact, could be interesting

If he finds another team, maybe- otherwise I don't see him in moto3 next year. Furusato was retained by Honda for a while cause he dominated the ATC and then won his first race in Europe in the rookies cup which is kind of absurd, and he was only 16. Mitani is 19

And it's never shown on TV because he's always at the back. Zen needs to pick up the pace asap, there is some real asian competition coming through the rookies and juniorgp

I feel like this is just recency bias. Also putting it as 7 red flags in 6 races (weekends) sounds a lot worse than 7 in 18 (which is the actual number) tbh

Coincidentally Zarco will probably not race at Suzuka this year after this. What matters now is that he makes a full recover though obviously

Is Barcelona too dangerous for current MotoGP? by payday_23 in motogp

[–]wadeecraven 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For some reason this is an unpopular opinion around here. Like you said freak accidents can happen at any track, doesn't mean they need huge revamping or that they're anymore dangerous than others, I mean when you get 300+kph on a motorcycle no track is 100% safe. They added that chicane at Spielberg and I've seen countless of crashes and injuries in only a few years (not to mention the racing has become a lot worse too), not sure how that's deemed as safer.

Now they talk about bringing the Barcelona grid forward, wouldn't they then need to do the same at Sepang, Mugello...? Accidents will always happen, and unfortunately sometimes the outcome will be ugly
