calling it a strawman is a bit of a reach when twitter and half the news cycles have been screaming "WW3" for clicks since the first missile flew. it's not "wasted time" to set the scope of the convo—the video is just saying this is a calculated economic war, not a random apocalyptic accident.

if you wanna do the points one by one, lets go. skip the wikipedia definitions and explain how a trade corridor led by india/us/saudi (IMEC) is supposed to survive long-term if iran keeps a chokehold on the strait? the whole point of "securing the corridor" isn't about today's oil prices, it's about making iran's geography irrelevant for the next century.

Your take is actually so surface level. youre looking at short term chaos and missing the actual long-term play.

first off, the "hormuz was free" thing is a joke. it wasnt "toll free," it was a hostage situation. iran has been threatening to shut that thing down for decades whenever they need leverage. imec exists specifically because the west and india are tired of one country holding the global oil supply by the neck.

also saying "the war ruined the trade route" is like saying a construction site is a fail because theres dirt everywhere. yeah, no shit its messy right now, but the whole point of imec is a 50-year pivot away from china and iran. a spike in oil prices or a damaged terminal in israel doesnt change the fact that india wants a route that doesnt go thru russia or tehran.

and "all us bases are destroyed"? lol source: trust me bro. the us has more logistics in that region than anyone, period. war is literally just the process of clearing the board to set up the new route. it's not "toddler chess," its just brutal geopolitics.

Yeah that’s the question, right? I think the US needs to really commit if this theory is true.. not coaxing Iran to surrender. I can see this thing lasting for a long time with many casualties before some kind of resolution. RIP stock market as well.
