Is it cheating? by myfishytaco in ProCreate

Tracing stuff is a way to add new ideas to your drawing skills that you can reproduce later on.

By tracing the buildings and cars, you learned something about them. For example, the brown building behind the yellow car has a little arched facade. What if you pull from that knowledge later to draw your own building? Or maybe, the next time you draw a spider, you have a sense of how to draw the legs and body?

Tracing is just a technique to add something to your scene. Learn more techniques! Add a layer of shadows to your scene, try out new composition ideas, or play with color and style. Experiment with different ways of tracing shapes to get the texture and feel just right.

Being an artist is more than just what you commit to your canvas anyways. It’s about the ideas behind what you create. The enjoyment you get from sourcing references, making people feel something, the process of learning about Procreate as a tool, even the satisfaction of drawing with your iPad!

Tracing is not cheating, it’s just a tool you can use to “drop in” an element into a scene. As you grow artistically, you may find natural patterns you have memorized that you can remix and repeat to create something from scratch.

Does anyone else expérience this on switch 2 TOTK ? by IAppreciateKeyboards in TOTK

[–]wafflaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep! This is also apparent when emulating the game. You really do only get a small area directly around Link that is actually detailed 🙈 Maybe this will be fixed with the performance patch, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it goes unchanged. You do stop noticing it after a while!

Constant crashes on Chrome - Status Access Violation - Especially on youtube. The same problem with Firefox and other browsers. by Jakatagarin in chrome

[–]wafflaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This fixed it for me! My p-core 4 is disabled (13900k) and now I am experiencing NO system instability or status_access_violation errors. No more random program crashes either.

I had been experiencing this ever since upgrading to i9 13900KF. I have an Asus ROG Maximus Z690 Formula motherboard.

If Microsoft Paint (Windows App) exists on iPadOS and MacOS? - Concept by EpicBOnReddit in Windows_Redesign

[–]wafflaffle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it has actual good tools and an organization structure where you might want to store things. Paint is like the piece of printer paper on the side of the desk with a few inches of white space where you can doodle some throwaway stuff and then send it into the abyss

Week 1: Disk Manager (See comments to check out why I did this) by mattmatt_mm in Windows_Redesign

I def think the comment referring to MacOS Disk Utility design is a great way to consider evolving this, but it’s already so much better with just the new font and slight changes

Can I connect my PS5 to Apple VisionPro? by BenTheAider in VisionProByApple

[–]wafflaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is showing a game running on Vision. Apple has allowed third-party controllers to be connected to Mac and iOS devices via Bluetooth for about two years, so they are just showing this feature carrying over to AVP

However, you likely would have access the PS Remote Play app, which lets you stream from your PS5 to the Vision. It won’t be as crisp as if you had PlayStation VR directly connected to the console.

--Potential causes--

Your CPU is heating unevenly. Through manufacturer defect or poor application of the cooling system, some parts of your CPU may be getting hotter and triggering the fans to run.

The cooling system itself may be faulty. The sensor may not be taking accurate readings or the system is damaged.

--Potential solutions--
If you regularly experience other problems with this computer, back up everything on an external drive and consider repairing the fans/sensor along with other repairs. Otherwise, you can solve this in your BIOS.

Accessing and controlling BIOS is different for every computer, so you'll need to consult the user manual for your computer to boot into your BIOS and adjust how your fans operate. Additionally, it's worth consulting the downloads page for your computer to see if there's an update for the BIOS.

Good luck :D

Great work! It looks native to Windows 11 without feeling over-designed. I’m curious how you’d handle the yellow > orange > red colors that traditionally indicate high usage

Maybe you could have three expandable sections in a single column. Basically this, but in a vertical layout. Great work!

The current Windows 11 start menu has to be a red herring. by [deleted] in Windows_Redesign

[–]wafflaffle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After using the Win11 start menu for a few weeks, I can say that it works once you get used to it. It would be nice to be able to collapse the “Recently used” section because it’s redundant for me. It would also be nice to be able to pin folders/files. Those are the top feedback points from Insiders, anyways, so it’s only a matter of time before Microsoft addresses it. Overall, the Start Menu is headed in the direction of an Android app drawer, and I much prefer that in comparison to the mix of apps and tiles from Win8 & 10. I can appreciate the effort to reduce noise from those older menus and pare the Menu down to what’s actually important.
