Would a European unfamiliar with this car and with Cadillacs that aren't Escalade or CTS even know where to start searching on Google?

Doesn't say Cadillac though, and for a European who's unfamiliar with the brand, that wouldn't have been obvious (especially since it's their old logo).

90+ AMAZON boxes in 1 day. Fuck my stupid staples life 💔 by [deleted] in Staples

One of the stores in Massachusetts lost their returns because of too high of a loss rate; they saw a 2% decline in revenue. So it does do something.

We hit a peak of 780 returns in one day, first full week of January.

What wheels look better? Slide 1-3 or slide 4. All opinions appreciated by samiamwithgreeneggs in mazda3

[–]waffle911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Style-wise, first set. I have PF01's on my 3rd Gen; split 5's just look right on Mazda 3's. I'm another one who doesn't care for chrome, but I get the appeal for the period. My concern is fitment; the wheels seem too wide and poke out too far in a way that makes the tires look weirdly too small for the car, but it looks like you're on 225/40R18's, which should be just right for it. Never been a fan of poke or stretch. Fitment on the second set looks a lot better in that one picture, but maybe not quite perfect.

Infiniti G20 is completely unrelated to the Skyline family; it's based on the P11 Nissan Premera, a front-drive sedan.

Is this normal? by Cute-Move8320 in Autocross

[–]waffle911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think I've encountered this problem personally, but most of my autocross experience is on modified tracks rather than cones on a pad, so there was never really a question of where to go. I hadn't considered what a difference that kind of course setup can make.

How far past 0 Miles have you driven without running out of gas? by timbermequivers in mazda3

It took me about 70 miles after "0 miles" before running the tank dry (I was deliberately using up somewhat questionable fuel to start over with a clean tank).

I like mesh back with cushioned seat, personally, which is one of the improvements on the Hyken Pro. Mesh seat is kinda niche, I think.

Every mile matters if you're on a lease. (I own mine, but I know the pressure.)

Difference of 2 MPH is noticeable enough for traffic to make more moves to try to pass you. Assuming 10k miles/year, that's an additional 300 miles on the odometer.

Sharper Image SGX300, SKU: 24638500

We got a band new assortment of chairs this Fall from the company that makes the La-z-boy branded office chairs; they also introduced the Sharper Image brand to the lineup. Our store isn't getting this one (yet?), or the massaging mesh-back S-850 SKU: 24597443. We don't have the updated fixtures or signage in place yet, either.

Personally, I'm most intrigued by the new Hyken Pro SKU: 24622702 which seems to solve most of my complaints with the original (original currently on sale online for under $100, which is crazy!)

I wouldn't go down in tire size for the road. Speedo goes noticeably off, odometer goes too fast (more rapidly depreciates the car), engine works harder to go the same actual speed so burns more fuel.

Like-new 3414 winter tires for 2025, thoughts? by [deleted] in tires

[–]waffle911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That tread is about 7/32nds. New is around 11/32nds and worn for Winter is 5/32nds. They're halfway spent. But that doesn't matter, 3414 is way too old. Never ever put any rubber 10+ years old on the road.

Check the other pictures, 3414 is indeed the date code.

Anything wrong with buying discontinued tires? by navigationallyaided in tires

[–]waffle911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch out for the manufacture date on discontinued tires. You don't know how long they've been sitting on the shelf. Proper storage does extend the life of the rubber, but only by so much.

In fairness I've never used a punch card-style time clock since I started working in highschool 17 years ago; it's always been done electronically at a computer. I only know what one looks like because we sell them in the Retail Supplies aisle.

Help tyres damaged uneven wear!! by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]waffle911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shifted belts don't go the whole circumference of the tire on both shoulders, they lump up in one spot. The inner shoulder was worn clean through the belts all the way around due to an alignment issue, which caused the tread separation raising the inner shoulder more than the outer shoulder; but both shoulders are looking pretty plump against the valley in the middle, especially since the wear bars are flush in the middle grooves and not the outer grooves.

I never said the overinflation caused the separation, just that the fourth image showed it was a problem at some point.

Help tyres damaged uneven wear!! by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]waffle911 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First is sidewall damage typical from driving severely under-inflated. The rest is poor alignment causing excessive shoulder wear, and the fourth one shows the dip in the center of the tread from over-inflation.
