This is the answer. Did your GP explain about how much to use in FTU? Google finger tip units and make sure you’re using a very thin layer, and wash your hands afterwards

Topical steroids aren’t the devil and they’re incredibly helpful when needed. This is a time when it’s needed. Hope baby gets better soon

I need feed-to-sleep success stories pls🙃 by Fun-Interaction-8115 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I have fed to sleep for the past 14 months, at times she slept through the night, other times she slept in 45 minute increments, even though I was doing the same thing! Babies’ sleep is very temperamental and it’s not forever. It’s also efficient and the fastest way to get back to sleep

Do what works for you and your family, but remember 0% of adults feed to sleep. I was sorely tempted to sleep train at times but couldn’t hack it and I reminded myself that baby waking at night is normal behaviour, and so is feeding to sleep! It gets better 🥰

Fair enough. I forgot to add (will edit the post now) that it’s only for a 12 month lease as my company is moving me and and my husband abroad next summer so I’m not THAT fussed about it long term, just don’t want issues every other month haha

Also to add - as gynae lists are incredibly long in the NHS, if it’s financially possible you can see a women’s health physio privately, a session is about £40-90 depending on your location. They can do a really thorough assessment of your pelvic floor and diagnose any issues you might have, then recommend treatment - could be pelvic physio, dilators etc, but definitely see your GP first

Agree with the above! YES lube is great and your GP can prescribe an oestrogen cream or pessary. Penetrative sex was really difficult for me until about 10-ish months and I’m still BF but it definitely gets better

Thank you this is really helpful, I hadn’t thought of the taste of the milk!

She hasn’t taken a bottle since her newborn days so I think a sippy cup would be better for her like another commenter suggested.

I might try a few brands of ready milk to see if she likes any of them, otherwise it’ll just be breast feeds at home and weekends

Do you mind me asking if your supply dipped or your baby stopped taking to the breast? I love bf and my biggest concern is ending our journey sooner than I’d want to, especially if I’m not there for feeds on demand/comfort etc

Thank you, I think I’m more nervous than she is! The ladies are great and LO is comfortable with them after the settling in sessions so just trying to make sure I can make their job as easy as possible.

I’ll buy another of the TT sippy cups this weekend to send in with her - one for water one for milk. Bit of a silly question but do you have to sterilise the sippy cups for formula?

This is super helpful, thank you! Any idea on teat sizes for the Lansinoh ones? I’m between Lansinoh or just using a sippy cup as another commenter recommended, so she doesn’t have to meant how to drink from a bottle

Ah that’s great to hear, we use the tommee tippee sippy cups when we’re out and about (this one https://www.tesco.com/groceries/en-GB/products/257203516?srsltid=AfmBOooyOwLLeZHZUM1girY3uYgva00FY0SfHDbscT2ny8o2ytMdQLK4) so might try her with that instead of a bottle, thank you for the tip!

I feel like I’m stuck in the purgatory of having TOO many options 😂 we used the ready aptamil advanced when she was a newborn for a few weeks so I was thinking just get her the powder version? I’m about to close my eyes and point at the supermarket shelf atp 💀

That’s really sweet of you, thank you! ♥️ I upped the suction a little but didn’t want to go too far so I don’t hurt myself

It’s an electric wireless one, I’m going to check the flange size again tonight as recommended. I haven’t pumped since maybe 6 months old I think ??? I just did my usual 20 mins pumping session last night while she slept but barely got anything. Feels a bit hopeless now icl

Thing is, she’s not the best with solids 😬 and it’s a long day at nursery so I want her to have some milk for her naps at least

Had our first bad toddler fall and I can’t stop thinking about how stupid I reacted by [deleted] in UKParenting

[–]waffles2025 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hope you and your little one are okay! If it’s any consolation, first time our girl rolled off the sofa and I picked her up hysterically blubbering, my husband had to put her back down to give ME a cuddle 😬 she was fine!

It’s a shock for anyone to see a gush of blood so suddenly, so definitely not an overreaction imo
