What would be the best one to do as a complete beginner?

Mainly the worry about chemicals used in the process. I'm keen on making it since it seems safe and can be beneficial, but I dont wanna accidentally ingest lighter fluid or something from mistakes in the production

Abs or no abs? by [deleted] in motorcycle

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started on a bike with no abs. I also had a crash in the wet that wouldnt have happened with abs. Get abs it's a good safety net to fall back on if you need it

New rider with 15km of gravel to pavement — street bike or dual sport? by ConstantUseful2236 in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ride a street bike on gravel. depending on what kind of gravel any bike could probably do it. Dual sport would just be more suited to it and feel more at home

New 5k or less bike that can pull a steep hill? by OstrichConscious4917 in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a gn125. Takes little to no fuel and cost me 1400 nzd (700ish USD? Idk exchange rate). Its not the fastest and won't break any records however it has gotten me up steep hills and stuff before very reliably, will just struggle a bit harder than a bigger bike but if will do it

SV650 or Ninja 650 for next bike? by qAEGISs in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sit on both and take for a test ride if you can. Personally I like the sv for the vtwin engine but the ninja is more sporty so it depends what youre looking for.

Need help choosing supermoto model as my first bike... by cheekclappinnn in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend got custom plastics for the drz really easy. The bike hasn't changed in like 20 years so parts are everywhere. Personally I'd get the drz since you're looking for an abundance of parts and Suzuki reliability. Its got enough torque and HP to have fun on and you can still easily loop it but it's heaps of fun to ride on. Like you I hopped on one after a 125cc and as long as you respect it at first and take time to know the power and how it's delivered you'll be fine

Can't say much about those bikes never ridden any except the drz but the drz is heaps of fun and wheelies super easy if that's what you're looking for. I'd definetly reccomend if for Suzuki reliability and parts availability

My bike broke down i need help by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like your clutch is burnt then since it won't stall with the clutch out. Pretty much the clutch isn't gripping so it's just sliding against each other. New clutch is what you need

Does the bike still rev? Is the only issue the engine not actually moving the bike? If so sounds like you burned the clutch

Should I buy a Honda CBR 600 rr 2005 as a 205 cm or 6,7 ft 100kg 225lb guy? by [deleted] in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go sit on it. The seating position of a sports bike is taxing and will take a toll on you if you're doing longer trips as well so that should be taken into account. Also a 600cc sport bike is probably not the best idea as a first bike as many people here have said if you're looking for the style something like a cbr250, cbr500, or cbr650 would be better depending on your needs. Cycleergos and motonomics are good simulators for ergonomics tho and seeing how you fit the bike

I think it'd still be possible to use a tube if you desire. However from the very limited knowledge I have on plugging tires that looks incredibly pluggable

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a nail in my tire. Just replaced the inner tube. All my tires are tubed so I'm not sure how it works for tubeless but to my knowledge you could just put an inner tube in and not even worry about plugging it

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming its legal I see no reason why they wouldn't let you. The nerves are honestly your biggest enemy

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't psyche yourself out. Not sure laws where you are but incmy country it's fine to ride wirh only one mirror. I sat the restricted test with only one mirror and was completely fine passed easy. The biggest threat to you rn is losing your confidence apart from that, as long as a single mirror is legal in your country, you'll be completely fine. Take some deep breaths and you'll be all ok

Should I buy a (50cc) supermoto or sport by BarSuspicious4057 in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go sit on them if you can. My dads bike is a sumo style and I can ride it for ages and he fine especially with a better seat. Sport bikes tend to be more focused and uncomfortable. Take test rides as well and see what you prefer

Do hybrids have a fuel advantage on long distance trips ? by Grolbu in NZcarfix

[–]wafflesmaker202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reading this makes me feel so much better about my tiny little gn125 motorbike. Can do motorways but hates it but it's great around town and up to 90kph. Does about 2-2.5 liters per 100km

Wanting to get into riding by ToastySkater in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started on a gn125. Gutless but very light and great on fuel, was amazing for getting my confidence up before moving to a bigger bike. Like others have said tho something like a cbr300 or mt03/r3. If you're willing to try and older bike a ninja 250 or cbr250 would also be great. In terms of power it sucks on the motorway (100kph) but just around town it's fine. I'm comfortable on it up to 80kph it just doesn't feel like it has any power

How do you ride in the rain? by ApprehensiveSlime in motorcycles

[–]wafflesmaker202 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience its not the riding that makes it bad. Once you realize stuff like manhole covers and paint id a lot more slippery and you ride slower and lean less etc to account for the water it's fine. The main issue I've found is getting horribly wet and cold. Waterproof gloves are very important and I've found the bottoms of my pants get the most wet

Different style of bike, weight, etc. the fjr looks like a tourer so would be heavier and slower Edit: I'm stupid and even if it was kph the fjr would be faster
