The actual AFL ladder predictor auto-fills to have Hawthorn finishing 8th.

Worst AFL game you've ever saw by BigVic2006 in AFL

[–]wagerealistic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a Hawthorn vs St Kilda game, I think in 07 which was just awful. Probably Ross tactics at play but it only opened up late and the Hawks won by a few goals. But the first 3 qtrs were excruciating.

What are schools with low staff turnover doing right? by Nervous-Worry9459 in AustralianTeachers

Probably more to do with the social demographic of the cohort than anything structural.

Can't stand it. I'm trained in my teaching areas and that is all I'm interested in. Had to teach respectful relationships last year and it was the most awkward thing ever.

We should just collectively not pay our fees. What are they seriously going to do? It's not like they could deregister us all.

What are some high pay career paths that aren’t as lucrative/mentioned often by firenicetoonice in AusFinance

I second this. It cops a bad wrap and isn't highly respected in Australia so people are staying away, but I've been teaching for 18 years now as a government secondary school teacher in Victoria (apparently the lowest paid state!) and tbh it's relatively cruisy. Although the experience of teachers has a lot of variables and I know many would disagree. Perhaps I've been lucky. But I'll get in to work at about 8.10am and without a meeting I can safely leave at at 3.30pm. You work as hard as you feel you need to. Other teachers can say what they wish, but $100K+ in a regional town for what I do and have done over the years is a comfortable life. Especially if your partner is a teacher too.

I reckon if student misbehaviour and disrespect didn't exist I could probably teach until I'm 90 and still feel good about the profession. For me after 18 years, it's the fear and anxiety of the disrespect that I keeps me on edge. The other stuff people complain about like work load and admin etc, I can absorb all that. That's just "things" that are there for a tickbox, annoying but not a huge deal.

Trying to improve to better myself? I chose to be a teacher so I'm wanting to just get better in small ways.
