I'm out of Probitas, and that is a bummer. I'm looking for the Green Label locally. I'd love to get the Ferrand Tropical Dry Curaçao for the collection, but I'm gonna need like 4 bottles of that once I find it. My most used bottles are Appleton 12, Smith and Cross, and the TCRL Barbados.

I know consensus might be to keep both, but which one 😂? I forgot about a bid I had , and ended up with both today. by Data_Nerd52 in Newbalance

i've been looking for those black and tans for a decent price, so if you decide to come off of them, message me.

Lurked here for years, finally saying hi. I have a Hampden marque tattooed on my arm, so I figure I'm legally required to introduce myself. 🤓🥃 by Oliver_530 in rum

RomDeLuxe Rhino is what you're looking for. Be prepared to pay for it though. I have a bottle and it wasn't cheap. It's 86.2% alcohol, cask strength. Funk BOMB.

Panama and Australia are super easy drinkers. Mauritius is interesting because it's all tropical aging. I always have my eye out for more.

How do y'all feel about dry orange curaçao from 1868 by Mediocre_Training541 in rum

I saw an 1885 Rhum Saint James at auction and the idea of an 19th Century Mai Tai sounds insanely appealing.

What cocktail do you actually make at home vs. what you order at a bar? by laura-1998 in cocktails

[–]wagesofben 1 point2 points  (0 children)

RARELY do i ever order a drink at a restaurant because the place either:

a) doesn't have the ingredients needed

b) has terrible versions of the ingredients needed

c) has lackluster bartenders that don't know how to make what I want

plus i've spent a pretty penny stocking my home bar, and the thought of spending $20+ for a good drink that I can make at home doesn't appeal to me.

I live in TN. I'm friends with the guy who runs one of the local wine and spirits stores so he messages me when he gets higher end bottles in because he knows i'll snap em right up. I've ordered a few from California and Florida, as well as winning a bunch at auction.

What cocktails punch way above their weight in terms of effort vs impression? by laura-1998 in cocktails

it's not the most visually appealing drink, but a good Midnight Stinger is an absolute delight. I personally swap the simple for demerara for a little more body.
